  5. When down to DIY shop to purchased Instant Super Glue and there are so many brands on the shelve. Took one set (a set containing 2 tubes) and paid for it. Upon returning home to use one for repairing my toilet shower room sliding door, to my surprised, that 2 inches (50mm) tube of super glue contain only about 6mm of glue ....... Was squeezing the tube and as I squeezed slowly, nothing came out for the first half of the tube. As such, I proceed further until more than 4/5 of the tube, then only some glue came out. WTF .... one nice looking tube of 50mm & squeezing unitl the last 6mm then only the glue appears and not enough for the job and had to open the other tube which also contain the same amount....... Real piss off ..........
  6. A while ago I was traveling at CTE. Traffic very good, not much car. I was at extreme left. I do all my signal as usual. I don't anyhow change lane. Travel at 80km/hr Out of no where, a MPV from behind me 4 car length hi-beam me for nothing. Thinking maybe he accidentally hi-beamed me. So I carry on driving. Next he hi-beam 2 times continuously. After 5 sec again and again. While he hi beam, he still 4 car length away from me. I start to get angry and at the same time telling myself to cool down. A few sec later I'm able to cool down and carry on my journey. That MPV again, hi-beam like drinking water. I'm glad that I exit Moulmein staying clear away from that "SIAO driver". After I parked my car I go behind my car see if got anything wrong with my car. But find nothing, even I try to recall back my journey, I find nothing wrong. Look back at my car video looks normal to me. Still, puzzle with what's wrong with him...
  7. http://news.insing.com/tabloid/slammed-giv...oor/id-4c5a3f00 A woman, who has been cooking food for the needy, has been criticised online, with one netizen even calling for her arrest. Rachel Lim Yan Xuan, a 34 year-old dance instructor, has been preparing meals and distributing them for free to people begging or selling tissues on the streets of Geylang and outside a temple at Waterloo Street. According to Lianhe Wanbao, she received flak from netizens after posting photographs of her good deeds on her Facebook account and was forced to stop after her third food distribution two weeks ago. She said:

I die die don't give way. My is just a smashed up car, want to bang then come lar. Squeeze almost bang liao. I stare at him, he stare at me. In the end he bo pian give up and miss the turn and drove straight to the next junction instead. You think you drive big car means you own the road? Don't come and fug around with me.
  10. Yoz. want to share something and also to see got any advice anot. yesterday night was second time i kana rear-ended at complete stop at traffic lights. let me share.. 6 months ago, a BMW rear ended me at low speed while i was at complete stop at cuppage. driver come out declare no damage. throw me a name card and refuse to show me driving licence. not one word of sorry. smelt alcohol on his breath. die die say i no proof cuz no damage. it was so dark and he insist no damage. refuse my offer of stopping at somewhere bright to thorough check and test reverse sensor. very aggressively ask me to drive off not to hold up traffic. I drove off and call police cuz he smell alcohol. end of story. yesterday night at jalan kayu i complete stop at traffic lights. many seconds later felt a thud. preg wife and 2 yr old baby inside. all ok lucky. went out and lady driver keep saying sorry and offered to give me hp number. to call her if anything wrong. keep saying sorry. i check again. again no dents. I took a photo of her driving licence and also her car plate and exchanged hp number and drove off. she very concerned about if my family is ok. now the thing is this. in daylight, i notice a half centermeters paint chipped off and a last finger fingernail size shallow dent at bottom of bumper. and when she knock yesterday, kopi spill on seat and carpet and cup holding console! I can live with the chipped paint( but metal exposed) and 1cm square dent. so if i am not repairing, i do not think i want her to pay anything. but kopi kana really caused me a lot of trouble and time. I pour a lot of water on carpet and seat but still smell of coffee... haiz... very bad situation. because of her poor driving skills i kana so much inconvinence and the "damage" she caused I will not be repairing so will not be asking her to pay anything. but since paint chipped and metal exposed, can i ask her to buy me a spot paint marker to cover the exposed metal in case rust? but like that like very petty hor? spot paint marker how much huh?
  11. http://www.temasekreview.com/2011/07/18/kh...n-balakrishnan/ Is this true or just wayang?
  12. Kana at car park. This morning notice a long scratch of around 15-20cm x 2cm wide on right corner of front bumper. I guess whoever is turning out of the lot or reversing in didn't judge properly and brush against my bumper. I guess its time to accumulate the scratches and then go for respray. That car is probably dark colour cause the paint marks are greyish in colour.

  14. hi all... need advice. Today saturday around lunch time, my odyssey's rear kanna kissed. no visible damage. nothing serious. HOWEVER, i was on the dotted full-day (red color) bus lane. in the short span of 2mins, a bus came and the driver inside ushered us to move away. (me and the other driver were exchanging contact details) he even flashed out his mobile phone to take pic of the "minor accident" Initially, i don't feel like reporting this accident even though i was the "victim" but what if the bus company escalate to LTA showing evidence we "block" the red dotted bus lane on a saturday?
  15. when I was approaching the junction the light turned amber, accelerated as I thought I was near enough and then stepped on the brake right after as I didnt want to take the risk. Managed to stop in time but end up the front part of the car overshot the line (1/4 to 1/2). Then red light camera flashed twice with 1 second interval. Will tio fine? Thinking whether as long as tio camera means will tio fine already or whether the 2 flashes with 1second interval was to determine if you did beat the red light? Cause the second photo should show that I was at the same position which means the car was already at a stop and not over the junction. How? Dont want to tio fine and demerit leh.
  16. Hi bros, i've used NSH numerous times and have often got summoned for speeding. normally, i'll just ask if the TP allow "payment" on the spot. However, this time round, my gut feel tells me that something is different. the police looked stern and told me that i've been fined 300RM for speeding at 126km/hr and i can settle it in JB. he asked for my driving licence and proceeded to write down the particulars immediately. then he went to the back of my car and copied the car plate and brand/model. sensing something is amiss, i kept my wallet.... and took from him the summon slip. Just want to share with forumers here that the past tradition of starbucks coffee $$ might not apply anymore and they can easily catch/detain u for something much much more serious. sidenote: can i settle the summon via the internet? if i'm selling my car away in 2 months time, should i settle the summon? (essentially a question of summon tagged to driver or vehicle)
  17. Feb 8, 2011 The surcharge menace WHILE more passengers may be choosing to book a taxi instead of flagging one down, I think it is presumptuous to attribute it to a stronger economy ("More book taxis in stronger economy"; Jan 18). I was back in Singapore recently for a short visit and without a shadow of doubt, it has become extremely difficult to flag down a taxi in the streets. Every time, I had to wait for at least 20 minutes to 30 minutes before I could get one. Many empty taxis zoomed past with the "on call" sign on, but none stopped at the taxi stand. Even those that were dropping passengers at taxi stands did not pick up new fare. On several occasions, I have seen rows of taxis waiting with engines idling at side roads with their "on call" signs on. One of those places is Queen Street. The taxi drivers are very smart. They know that if they ply the streets hoping to pick up passengers, it would be a game of chance. However, if they just parked at a street corner and waited for a booking, their chances would be far better. When the bookings come in, they can select a preferred one - for example, those going to the casinos or airport - and ignore those that they don't want - for example, those going to Tuas. And by waiting at corners like Queen Street, they know their chances of getting a fare go up exponentially. Orchard Road and Bras Basah are busy areas and cabbies are confident they will receive a booking within a couple of minutes. The reason cabbies prefer bookings over casual street fares is the multitude of surcharges they earn from taking booked calls. After having been away for two years, I was shocked to note, on my return home, how costly a taxi ride had become. For instance, one taxi ride cost $4.60, but the surcharges bulked up the total fare to $11.40. Isn't it bizarre that the surcharges add up to more than the actual ride cost? If a Singaporean like me is confused and annoyed, imagine what a tourist would be thinking? Most likely, that he has been ripped off. I can't recall any other place with such a convoluted taxi fare system. If we cannot live with a free-market system, let's switch to a full booking system like in New Zealand. The Land Transport Authority should be under no illusion that all is well and there is no need to fix the problem. Patrick Tan Think he came back fm M'sia. With the currency imbalance against the SGD, how to compare?

  24. Retrieved from the electric New Paper The four policemen went undercover to look for illegal activities in a Geylang backlane. But the operation quickly turned ugly when they arrested one person at a makeshift gambling stall. A crowd of about 200 people gathered around the officers and threw whatever they could lay their hands on, such as beer bottles and glasses, rocks and even rubbish. They became so unruly that one officer pulled out his gun, turned on its laser guide and aimed it at them. They calmed down, but became aggressive again when one of the men in the crowd, Foong Yuen Kuang, 28, charged aggressively towards one of the officers and challenged him. Speaking in a mixture of English and Hokkien, he openly challenged the undercover officer to a "one-on-one" fight with him. The mob resumed throwing things at the officers and dispersed only when police reinforcements arrived 15 minutes later. By then, the four officers were bruised and bloodied. They received treatment at Changi General Hospital. The dramatic details of the confrontation were revealed at the trial of Foong, a Singapore permanent resident, who faced one charge each of rioting and using threatening words at a police officer
