  2. Well, It took me a week to decide that I should share this with other parents here. It is no big deal, but I must say I am proud of him, and I want to remind other parents to listen and pay attention to your child. You will be surprise...LOL My boy came to on Wed a week ago in the evening after school. Our conversation was a simple one on the subject. Boy : " Daddy, I need a shelf to keep my rubix's cubes and kentama. This is what I need." ( and he went on to explain to me what he wanted) Me: " OK, can you draw it out and explain to me again?" Boy : " Ok, do you want a 2D or 3D drawing?" Me : " Give me both." ( But seriously, in my mind I was like WTF, how are you going to do a 3D drawing. He is only 11 years old, with no technical background, I don't even know if I can read and understand his drawing when it is done...LOL) He left to his room, came back to me in 15 min, and this is what he drew. Engineers please don't laugh at him, he is a P5, 11 years old boy. We then went into his room and had a discussion on where he wanted it install. Weekend came, father and son went on a material purchase trip after breakfast, grab everything we need, came back and started on the job. It was a simple 10 min job for me, but to see him eagerly involved running around taking tools and throwing away rubbish was fun. It was more than father and son bonding, it was more like "2 men working on a project". He was not only happy, he was proud of the work. A simple job, but it was his idea, his creative, and it became reality. With this, I am sure he will come to his dad with more projects and ideas, and I look forward to having such "2 men working on a project" kind of weekends...LOL Guys, so if your child come running to you with an idea to do up his/her room, or asking you to build something with him/her, don't brush them away, listen to them. It may sound simple and not worth the while for us to do it, but it is something great to the child, something he/she can be proud of. A way to build his/her confident, encourage creativity, stronger the bond, and a great way to spend that weekend away from hp and Pc...LOL You may be surprise what else their little brain can come out with. Here is the finished product...LOL
  3. I been listening to this during leisure drive come share yours

  6. i read with interest this thread: http://sgsoundsystem.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6143&page=4 it contains some of my favourite elements of interactive internet forum activity, and some of the performances are truly oscar material. however, today's question is not really about theatrics. it's another one of those things that i dun understand in ICE. so i got to ask u all lah.... Why IASCA tuning cannot listen audiophile music? this is i think the 2nd time i heard this, but both times i have no opportunity to ask why. 1st time was cos i think i forgot who said it, and 2nd time, the thread has been locked before i even discovered such eroticism existed in ICE forums. but anyway ... i hope brother wilco is in this forum too. i dun dare to pose this question in sgsoundsystem cos i scared in future i have to pull down my pants when i play ICE. it intrigues me that, as a certified IASCA judge, brother wilco commented that IASCA's tuning is unsuitable for good music. what is wrong with this IASCA tuning? is IASCA tuning different from EMMA / AMMA / whateverMAMA tuning? i donno, i'm not sure what was taught in the judging course. if it's the same, then EMMA tuning also no good for nice music? umm.. so what is good for nice music? home hifi tuning? i think most of us would agree this part is true, unless there are still some jedis who still believe $10k speakers in cars can smell the smoke of a $3k home system. so assuming this is true, that home hifi tuning plays good music. so what is implied here is that IASCA tuning is NOT the same as home hifi tuning, and hence, it cannot play good music. was that what was covered in the judging course? or is it the interpretation of brother wilco? i'm sorry i'm not criticising brother wilco, i just don't understand, that's why i'm asking. i don't expect wilco to be in this forum, i'm not sure. so whoever knows what is IASCA tuning (mr jeff, the IASCA man?), can please teach me? i also wanna try try fight IASCA competition one day leh ... when i can finally find a buyer for my crap speakers.
  7. For me...the answer is yes yes yes!

  9. I was just wondering if the type of music you listen to while driving, will affect your driving. For example, if i listen to techno/Eurodance, i tend to drive faster/more aggressively compared to if i were listening to jazz/classical instead.
  10. Do you agree? Somehow, I am quite inclined to agree with that. Anyone feels very strongly against this common Chinese saying?
  11. Of course, each has its disadvantages... LPG - ADV 1.cleaner fuel than conventional petrol 2.can be made easily available (UNION could provide ) 3. - DISADV 1.not readily available in Singapore (at least not as an alt fuel for cars) 2. 3. HYBRID - ADV 1.being green without any hassle of conversion 2.no warranty issues (for new vehicles) 3. - DISADV 1.electric motor complicates repairs? 14. I am driving a 2.0L car with a 205/65/R15 Toyo tyre. Just got my tyres changes about a month or so ago. The "tyreman" said the pressure for all the tyre should be 250KPa (36PSI) but most of the web pages and manual that I check for my car should be about 230 (33) for front and 210 (31) for rear or if full load then should be 230 all tyres. I am pretty confused .... when I am on 250KPa it feels quite bumpy and when I am on 230 it is less bumpy but the tyre (especially the front) looks deflated. Am thinking of changing the pressure to 250 KPa for front and 230 for rear ... do you think it is a good idea ?
