  1. Another high-performance car has been spotted in a crash while going at a good speed. Our latest post shows a Black Renault Megane RS going at a decent speed before losing control while stepping on his brakes. e166fed5-f4f3-4fbc-b00b-9de415dbd071.MP4 From the video, we can see that the driver was trying to avoid the road works in his lane but curiously, the car seems to have malfunctioned while he was on his brakes. If you looked at the video carefully, you could see straight black lines on the road, indicating that the tyres locked up before he slammed into the left side of the viaduct before bouncing across into the opposite barrier. While it did seem like the Megane was at or slightly above the speed limit, the crash is quite a mystery to us as under normal circumstances, there is more than sufficient space to stop or avoid the roadworks. What do you guys think? Could it be a brake failure, tyre puncture or a case of the driver falling asleep at the wheel? Let us know in the comments below!
  2. Looks like the hot Hatch category getting interesting next Year You Have the Renault RS which is zero to 100 in about 5.7 to 6 sec New engine. Not as ricey as the Civic and tamer. Functional Diffuser. 4 Wheel Steering, which may not be everyone's liking. Hopefully, they nail it this time round. Its downsize to 1.8T instead of 2.0 T so I suspect no replacement for displacement means the 150 to 200 kmh range will be slower on the straight. Comes stock at 280 bhp while GTi is 235 bhp. vs Civic 308 bhp. Let see what kind of prices. If the number falls in the 145 to 155 K range, probably have very good takeup rate.
  3. Renault is gunning for an under-8-minute lap time on the fabled Nurburgring track with a more extreme version of its Megane RS. Utilising the help of a better suspension setup from Ohlins, better tyres from Michelin and a new exhaust by Akrapovic, we will see this car come alive in 'under 2 months' as stated on Renault's Facebook page. With the pre-facelift Megane RS Trophy already setting a 8:07.97 lap time, we reckon the more extreme Megane will not have much trouble achieving its aim. Sadly, Renault is not the first manufacturer to produce the first hot hatch that can achieve a sub-8-minute lap. SEAT recently went below eight minutes with their Leon Cupra, achieving a 7:58:44 lap time with their 280bhp (probably) version. And with Honda very keen to show that it's Civic Type R will be the fastest hot hatch on the 'Ring also, it seems like we have a fierce battle brewing for the title of the fastest FWD hatch on the Nurburgring! Watch the Megane RS Trophy set a 8:07.97 lap time below. http://dai.ly/x1r7zci_renault-megane-r-s-trophy-sets-a-new-nurburgring-record-on-bridgestone-potenza-full-version_auto
