  1. Nissan has revealed the all new 2015 Nissan Murano at the New York International Auto Show. While the original Murano was inspired by the elegance of Italian Murano glassware from which the model took its name, the third generation took its cues from the Nissan Resonance Concept. The prominent glass areas of the first generation Murano were retained and expanded with the new design, including the use of its jet-inspired roof and D-pillars that appear disconnected from the roof that help visually lighten the cabin. Another key element is the continued refinement of the boomerang-style headlights and taillights, which were originally introduced on the Nissan 370Z. The new design is slightly lower, wider and longer, enhancing the aerodynamics while not compromising the desired crossover height and stance. The instrument panel height is lower than previous Muranos. Centred between the outer wings is a large information and control centre with an available eight-inch colour display with multi-touch control. The cargo area has been reconfigured to provide a projected best storage space in the segment (with seats up). The rear cargo area, accommodates four large suitcases and can accomodate more load with the flat folding rear seats. The Murano will be available at launch with a standard 3.5-litre DOHC V6 rated at 260bhp and 325Nm of torque. Also standard is an advanced Xtronic transmission tuned for quick response and smoothness. Fuel economy is projected to be enhanced by approximately 20 percent versus the current generation Murano, due to the approximate 58kg overall weight reduction, enhanced aerodynamics and engine/transmission efficiencies. The 2015 Nissan Murano will be offered in four grade levels when it goes on sale in late 2014 in America - each available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
  2. The 2012 World Car of the Year awards have been presented at the New York Auto Show to celebrate the efforts for a great year past. Top honours went to the Volkswagen Up! which was declared the World Car of the Year, beating 34 other contenders as well as two finalists - the BMW 3 Series and Porsche 911 - to land the prestigious award. The Porsche 911 took the crown for the World Performance Car of the Year, beating the likes of Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 and McLaren MP4-12C among some 19 entries. On the other hand, the Mercedes S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY was named the World Green Car of the Year. Despite only averaging 5.7 litres/100km beating Ford Focus Electric and Peugeot 3008 Hybrid to the accolade. Lastly, the Range Rover Evoque won World Car Design of the Year. As the only non-German champion, the crossover was praised for being stylish and "contemporary."
  3. The Subaru Legacy and the Legacy on stilts, the Outback has been revised for the 2013 model year. Subaru has slightly 'improved' the looks of the quirky looking large sedan and wagon by changing the front end of the cars. Both cars feature new headlights, grille and bumper. The new look seems to suit the Legacy better with its Audi-esque bumper (but still slightly awkward) but the Subaru Outback still looks dumpy and awkward to me. Other styling changes are limited to the interior

  5. Subaru had unveiled the new 2011 (model year) WRX STI 4 door sedan together with the earlier mentioned Impreza WRX sedan version at the 2010 New York Motor Show. The car sports the same wide arches as the hatchback and the trademark tall goal post rear wing. This brings back the look that is recognizable by almost all Subaru enthusiasts as being the quintessential Subaru Impreza STI look. I suppose Subaru has finally realized that people who buy the Impreza STI still wanted the trademark styling of the GC and GD series STIs and that the usual customers who bought those cars had stayed away (or went and bought a Lancer Evolution instead) from the hatchback version. Now it only needs gold rims to complete the package. They could be saving that for 2012 I suppose. According to Subaru, this latest version of the STI was developed under the concept of
