Opel to reveal updated Astra range and new engine at Moscow International Auto Salon

[extract] Opel will host the debut of the all-new Astra sedan as well as the facelifted Astra hatchback and Sports Tourer at the upcoming Moscow International Auto Salon that runs from 29 Aug to 9 Sep. In addition, Opel will unveil the first of three new engine families, namely the 1.6-litre four cylinder Spark Ignition Direct Injection (SIDI) petrol engine. You may ask,-

About 3 years after the launch of the Astra hatchback, Opel has finally revealed the Astra in its sedan form. This should be the final Astra variant after the hatchback, Sports Tourer station wagon and the GTC coupe. The GM subsidiary expects the Astra sedan to do well in markets such as Germany and Spain and see growth opportunities in Eastern and Central Europe. The new Astra sedan measures 4,658mm long, 1,814mm wide and 1,476mm tall, making it 239mm longer than the hatchback. The car is even longer than the VW Jetta, which is already quite lengthy for a compact sedan in my opinion.
