I am wondering if the advertised philips LED x-treme ultinon or LED ultinon require any retrofit if I were to replace the headlights bulb? Any place to recommend to change them and will it pass LTA inspection in future? http://www.philips.com.sg/content/dam/master/lighting-philips/automotive/car-lights-apr/leaflets/LED_EN.pdf

  5. where to buy in North/Central area and about how much ah? thanks in advance.
  6. Interesting... I din know that a LED bulb can fit into our regular bulb holder. For over 100 years, the light bulb didn't evolve much, generally sporting the same, well, bulbous design ever since Thomas Edison gave us the original in 1879. Lately that's changed as LEDs and CFLs have challenged the conventional bulb, and now Philips is taking light bulb design in a new, flatter direction. The SlimStyle looks like a light bulb that's hit the gym. It emits light at a brightness equivalent to a 60-watt incandescent bulb, but it's powered by an LED (light-emitting diode), meaning it consumes just 10.5 watts. It also has a rated lifetime of 22 years, so you can count the number of times you'd need to change the bulb in a human lifetime on one hand. See also: 14 Google Tools You Didn't Know Existed The most novel thing about the SlimStyle, though, is its design. At first glance, it looks shaped like a regular bulb, but when you look at it from the side you can see how slim it is. It still fits in a normal socket, so it's not overly thin, but it's definitely unusual — and easier to screw in. I got a little hands-on time with the SlimStyle. The light it produces is as warm as an incandescent bulb and it's extremely consistent, with no flicker. It feels more durable, too, with an exterior that's more like hard plastic than glass (though I didn't stress-test it). Unlike some of those twisty CFL bulbs, The LED-based SlimStyle is dimmable. LED lights are considered by many to be the most promising candidate to fully replace the incandescent bulb since they consumer far less power and don't have the trace amounts of toxic mercury found in CFL bulbs. Starting Jan. 1 they'll get a big boost when a federal law goes into effect that will make it illegal to manufacture or import traditional 60- or 40-watt incandescents. "Right now we're at a really exciting point because LED bulbs have started to break the $10 mark, and fall well below it once you factor in subsidies," says Sal Cangeloso, author of LED Lighting: A Primer to Lighting the Future. "We're still not at the point of mass adoption — it's not entirely clear where that is — but right now we have two significant factors coinciding: dropping prices and the the phase-out of 40W and 60W incandescents going into effect." The Philips SlimStyle bulb goes on sale January 2 exclusively at HomeDepot.com.

  11. Within a month, 2 of my home appliances (both Philips brand) failed. One is a standing fan which have been with me for 3 yrs+ and the other is a handheld vacuum cleaner which passed one year of use. Not that I trying to shoot down the brand, but really give me second thoughts about considering them for future home appliances e.g. TV, radio, hi-fi. Not sure if anyone had the same encounter as me.
  12. Hi, anyone knows where can i find a good deal for philips x-treme H1? Wanted to wait for the philips warehouse sale, but cannot wait liao.

  15. Hi everyone, just to share my bad experience that I have bought a pair of diamond vision for my high beam about 3 months back at sin ming ind area, and recently 1 of the bulb blown. So I called the shop and ask if there's any warranty bo as i was refer to them by my friend who told me that their price for philips is cheaper. As expected, they told me that bulb dun comes with warranty as it a wear and tear products which I agree too. So I 'LL ' go buy another set to replace lor. Everythings seem alright correct? The 'buay Song' issue just start...As Im working near town area, I went to the shop which i done my audio place near my workplace to get the bulb, as I myself had been using philips bulb for my previous 2 cars and I really believe in it quality, this is the 1st time which my bulb last not more then 3 mths, maybe i 'suay' lor. So the mechanic took out the bulb and wanted to replace it, then the mechanic ask me a question which i was so shock!! He told me that how come im using different brands of bulb on each side and ask me if it was purchase from them as im quite a regular over there. Now, you will ask since im a regular there and how come i never buy the bulb from them in the first place right?? Reason simple, they selling @ $85 but I bought it @ only $65 from the previous shop in sin ming. After i told them, the boss told me that the bulb which i bought likelyhood is from china as a numbers of accessories shops which might not be a authorised bring in ' china conterfeit philips bulb', that's how come they can sell out so cheap. Instead of getting a saving of 20 bucks, end up spending xtra for another pair but luckily the boss is very nice to give me some discount on it. After fixing, while driving i call the sin ming shop agn to tell him what I see and told him what i heard, but to my surprise..this is what i get; 'bo ko leng lar'.. Haiz..what to do, it myself who went to buy it, nobody force me, it me who thinking of GREAT saving GREAT deal..think paying $65 bucks for a lesson, it still worth it. Now im more firm on the saying...' yi fen qian yi fen huo' Just my advices to anyone who would wants to buy philips bulb, go to the authorised shop.. So sorry to have written such a long essay..just wanted to vent out the anger somewhere so choose to write..haha..

This is what Auto Express had to say about Philips Xtreme Power:- "This is so new, we could not randomly select test samples, so cannot include it in our assessment. Philips claim an 80 per cent improvement over standard units, but we think that this is conservative." Philips Extreme Power +80% Headlight bulbs are sold in a pack of 2.
