I was at a restaurant waiting and watching the teenage waiters and waitresses work their butts off serving a very crowded dinner crowd. I told my wife even though their salaries are low and they receive no tips, hopefully their cut of the 10% service charge makes up for the effort. My wife, who knows the F&B industry quite well, laughed and said only in the ideal world. In the real world all revenues go to towkay's wallet. That left me quite disturbed. I just wonder what is the possibility of true if someone said in the past 5 years he received 1000 emails per day? I mean what kind of job that a person will get 1000 emails per day? the person I knew that claim he got thousand emails per day is not a property/ insurance agent. he is also not selling/ buying anything in his job. he is working at top local science research center with very high position. maybe someone from here, ever received 1000 emails per day?

Dear Bros, Please advice what documents/papers i should receive upon handing over my car to the buyer. A copy of his loan successful form? A copy of transfer of ownership paper? And what? Sorry, very new to this as this is the first time selling car to direct buyer and also because i sold my car thru a middle man broker and therefore not very sure what should i or should not receive. Btw, my broker told me that the cheque will only be release tomorrow instead of today as the transfer of ownership and for bank to clear my early settlement outstanding. In fact, the reset of asset PIN is done by my broker too as i hand over my IC to him for the reset to proceed (which i felt very unsafe to hand over my IC). However, when i checked OneMotoring the request of reset asset PIN was done thru LTA Channel. Does that mean it was done at LTA front desk? Would be be advisable to release the car first before i receive my cheque? Please advice!

SINGAPORE - China will send two pandas to Singapore to mark next year's 20th anniversary of bilateral relations, the city-state's zoo operator said Wednesday. The announcement was made Wednesday evening by President Hu Jintao during a meeting with Singapore President S. R. Nathan, Wildlife Reserves Singapore said in a statement. It said the pandas, a male and female, would arrive in 2011 - a year after the 20th anniversary - and be housed at River Safari, a new attraction being built. They will be loaned to Singapore for 10 years, a spokeswoman for the zoo operator told AFP. Officials with the Chinese delegation to an Asia-Pacific leaders meeting being hosted by Singapore, which Hu will attend, were not immediately able to confirm the statement. China has used panda diplomacy worldwide since the days of the Cold War, most famously when it helped cement a rapprochement with the United States in the early 1970s by sending a pair of the animals. More recently, it sent a pair of pandas to Taiwan late last year amid a thaw in relations between mainland China and the self-ruled island, which split in 1949 at the end of a civil war. China normally demands enormous fees for its pandas. The statement said the panda enclosure in hot and humid Singapore would be climate-controlled to approximate the cooler climes of mountainous southwestern China, the animals' natural habitat. Habitat/ Exhibit The two giant pandas will be housed at Wildlife Reserves Singapore's River Safari. The exhibit will be constructed according to the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums standards. It will be fully air-conditioned and the humidity level kept low. The giant pandas will be housed in a 1600 m2 climate-controlled enclosure, off-exhibit holding area, exercise yard and cubbing den. The entire habitat will be air-conditioned with temperature set between 18 to 22˚C and humidity controlled at 50 to 60% all year round. Thinking of getting a Full HD LCD TV with Build in DVB-T Tunner to receive Digital 5/8 and HD-5 without any set-top box, better think again. A statement issue by selling a manufacturer selling DVB-T receive as below: For Singapore residence, some DVB-T reception with indoor antenna might be impaired by walls and high neighboring buildings/structures/trees. In such environments, an outdoor / roof-top DVB-T antenna is recommended. If you are using roof-top antenna with amplified signal, in theory, you should not encounter any reception problem and you should be able to receive all free-to-air DVB-t channels available in Singapore. For optimal reception of DVB-T channels with any indoor antenna (DVB-t compatible), you have to be in a location with minimum disturbance on the DVB-T signal. If you are using indoor antenna in a building, you may receive only TV Mobile (scan with channel number 37) as it has stronger signal transmission than other free-to-air DVB-t channels. I'm wondering how many people in Singapore have brought a Full HD LCD TV with DVB-T Tunner, DVB-T Receiver, DVB-T Tunner for PC / Laptop to realised that they can't received Digital 5, Digital 8, Digital CNA and HD-5 through the Starhub SCV Point and indoor antenna also can't help. Newer HDB Flats build by the HDB no longer offer roof-top antenna and instead offer Starhub SCV Point. Additional TV points required in the house now need to engage a license Starhub wiring contractor to do the wiring whereby in the past, it's not required for roof-top antenna point. I believe the condos' owners are also facing the same issue. What does this mean to the end users, they got to either get a Starhub Settop box / Receiver or use Singtel Mio TV to receive HD-5 if they want to receive HD-5. And for those who don't want to get a settop box, No HD-5 for you. No Digital 5 for you, No Digital 8 and no Digital CNA. I believe that alot of shops selling Full HD LCD TV, DVB-T receiver equipements will not tell the buyers all this. The authorities also didn't advertise in any media that we can't receive HD-5 from Starhub SCV Point without a receiver box from StarHub. It's entirely up to the buyers to find out before buying and if you already brought and cannot receive, it's your fault. It's a honest mistake. You can only suck your thumb and do one of the above point that I mentioned. Just wondering can the authority do anything since Digital-5, Digital-8, Digital CNA and HD-5 are all free to air channels and why we cannot watch it using the Starhub SCV Point? We didn't ask for Starhub SCV point at the first place and after paying tv license fees, we cannot watch those free channels? I just feel short-changed since we're already paying TV License, we're being control of what we can watch by Starhub and when we realised that we cannot receive HD-5, we can only suck thumb. Come on at least advertise in the Media to let us know before we do the purchase or send us letters. Otherwise, why collect TV License from us and let us suffer another lost from purchasing things that we'll find out it's a totally useless. Starhub, give me back my Free Digital-5, Free Digital-8, Free Digital CNA and Free HD-5.

hey folks.! i went to johor on the 6/6/08 and rented a lao pop wira 1.5 manuel along the car rental company along holiday plaza. which is in a very very bad condition. Placed a deposit of 100RM. + car rental 80+30 insurance. experience of the was bad. power was horrible. engine noise is loud. was told that only 1month later i can take back my deposit provided i have no summons. and summon for speeding is 300RM and dashing of red light is 100RM illegal parking is 30RM. And if i have any summons that is more den 100RM they will call me and i have to make a trip there to pay. He also say if i don't pay he will charge double of the summon. like 1-2summon 300RM become 600RM. I don't intend to pay any of them, but wonder what is the consequence. document that i provided is only my 11B (SAF I.C) photocopied , they refuse to keep my passport cos it's a Malaysian bmt passport(blue colour) serving army in S.G to get citizen. And a deposit of my friend's Singapore passport. though i'm a malaysian i know nothing about malaysia as father is singaporean grew up and study in singapore. only scare if i never pay next time i enter malaysia must pay at Kustom.
