Singaporeans spend so much time rushing here and there, living hectic lives. Sometimes, with everything that's happening, you neglect your own safety, and, in this case, you get put to sleep by a higher power. If you watched the recent Mortal Kombat movie, the way the jaywalker flew reminds me of this scene. But I digress. Let's get right into the video. It's a sunny (風和日麗) afternoon along a 2-lane road. The right lane is congested. The cam car navigates his way to the left lane (I would too to escape waiting). The cam car speeds up on the empty left lane and "Mr Ronaldo" (I'm going to call the jaywalker Mr Ronaldo) dashes out of nowhere into the path of the cam car. "Mr Ronaldo" 👇 BAM! Ouch! What an impact. It looks painful, doesn't it? The impact is so strong that it even sends him flying and flipping before crumpling to an unconscious heap on the road. The driver does not look like it's going extremely fast as he just started picking up speed not too long before Mr Ronaldo jumped in. Think of Mr Ronaldo like a tennis ball and the cam car as a tennis racket. That's rebounding at the maximum velocity right there. Here's the full video. TL:DR – An impatient lorry driver tries to beat the red light at a cross junction but ends up t-boning and wrecking a Mercedes instead. A horrific accident happened earlier today (9th Feb) at 2.23pm at Choa Chu Kang. It could have all been avoided if the lorry driver had shown some patience. Here’s the video: Rekt Not going to go into too many details, but the lorry certainly did a number on the Mercedes. If it were a lighter car, like a Honda Fit for example, it would have been flung down the bridge. How’s the driver? There are no updates about the driver or the occupants of the Mercedes, but we hope everyone’s okay. Patience please? Is it too hard to ask people to have some patience when they drive? TL:DR – A man and a woman engage in an act that requires head bobbing (and tissue) in the driver seat of a van. In broad daylight. For the whole world to see. Remember that whole incident about the couple testing the Volkwagen Golf suspension last year? TL;DR – A stationary Prius at a set of traffic lights in Woodlands suddenly changes to the right lane. The driver then opens his door to reveal a phone in his hand and points the middle finger at cam car. What bizarre behaviour Watch this minute-long video to understand just how bizarre. But, because he decided to do something so foolish, cam car caught something interesting. This mofo was using his handphone while driving! Watched the whole video? Naturally, I watched the whole video to see if cam car had done something to ignite the hellfire within the Prius driver. But, there was nothing to support that fact. TL;DR – A Range Rover enters the main road via a small lane along Braddell road without looking out for oncoming traffic. Cam car manages to evade a T-bone incident with the Range Rover, but it almost came with a huge cost. Wow. TL;DR – A Honda Shuttle makes a super-illegal left turn to block the path of cam car at a slip road. The cam car had initially cut into the Honda Shuttle’s lane and the Shuttle driver was having none of it. If someone cuts into your lane abruptly, how would you react? Whack that high beam? Sound the horn? Curse the other driver in the comfort of your car and forget about it in five minutes? That’s what I would do. But, in this latest 3-minute video, we have a Honda Shuttle driver who takes his anger management issues to the next level. So angry for what? Drivers experience this every other day The video begins with a common sighting – a vehicle (cam car) cutting into the path of another vehicle (Honda Shuttle) to enter a slip road. We do not know whether the driver of the cam car signalled their intention to lane change. Cam car enter the slip road, Shuttle drives past as if it’s going straight. Everything seems fine and dandy, right? WRONG! Out of nowhere, the Shuttle appears in front of the cam car and stops there. We then realise that the Shuttle is a Shariot car. It doesn’t even belong to the driver! Wait a minute, hold up For the Shuttle to end up there, doesn’t that mean it had to turn left here? That’s illegal AF though, right? RIGHT?! Uncle, why you so childish? Eventually, the driver steps out of the vehicle to reveal a singlet wearing Uncle. Who uses his phone to snap a picture of the cam car’s license plate. Both parties at fault? While we don’t know what happened before the recording, I must say that the lane change by cam car felt rather abrupt and could have posed a moderate level of danger for vehicles in its rear. Luckily, no passengers suffered serious injuries during this accident. Earlier this morning, an GoAhead bus driver and his passengers found themselves in an unfortunate predicament during the morning rush hour. The video starts with a cam car turning into a junction near Loyang Ave towards Tampines Ave 7. The driver notices a green GoAhead bus travelling straight through the junction as the car slowly inches forward. He then stops in the yellow box as he lets the bus pass through the junction. Out of the blue, another bus appears from the right of the cam car and abruptly turns into the junction. The sudden movement causes the second bus to hit the back of the first bus, which results in the exploding of the windows on the first bus. Passengers situated near the windows appear to be in shock as the first bus comes to a complete stop. Pictures of the damage from the accident are posted online as well. What exactly happened? According to an online post, it appears that the driver of the second bus had misjudged the proximity of the other bus in the junction. This explains why he thought it would be possible for his bus to squeeze into the junction. Whoever taught this driver how to drive, what do you have to say now? 😥 There is definitely no way that this is being taught at driving schools. The video starts with a camcar driving along a junction at Geylang Road in the second lane. Intending to go straight after the junction, the driver slowly continues when all of a sudden, a grey car pops out and attempts a right turn. TBH the way he just slides across the junction kind of reminds me of this: A playback of the video shows that the grey vehicle is traveling along the fourth lane of the road. Upon reaching the junction, the driver realizes that he didn't form up properly to make a right turn. Not wanting to miss his turn, he slides across four lanes to make a reckless right turn right in front of our camcar driver. Luckily for him, the camcar quickly notices the vehicle's intentions and slows down. The video ends with a statement from the camcar driver, berating the other driver's selfish actions. Honestly, what is the driver thinking by sliding across so many lanes in such a short amount of time? Is it worth being so reckless and endangering the safety of others just to make a turn? An Audi A3 driver makes a terrible decision in the middle of the SLE expressway and gets shamed for it. That's right guys, you read the video title correctly. In the video, a cam car cruises down the first lane of the expressway when suddenly, the grey Toyota Vios in front of him abruptly brakes. This causes the cam car to hit his own brakes as well to avoid rear-ending the Vios. As expected, the sudden braking of both vehicles leads to a motorcyclist almost hitting the grey Vios as he performs a lane split. Puzzled over the sudden braking, the cam car eventually makes it further down the expressway, only to find a stationary red Audi A3 in the middle of the first lane. The owner can be seen climbing over the divider to retrieve something of his before running back to his precious car. This causes the cam car driver to let out an audible exclamation of "Walao eh!", which voices his disapproval at the Audi driver's inconsiderate actions. Why did the Audi driver stop his car in Lane 1? The A3 driver stopped his car in the middle of the first lane to retrieve this: Yep, that's right - a mirror cover. For those who are unfamiliar with these, a mirror cover covers the back and over of a car's side view mirrors. Its purpose is to protect the mirrors from dirt and debris coming up off the road, as well as to contribute to its aesthetic features. While it is rare for mirror covers to suddenly fly off while you're driving, it's possible for it to happen when one or more of the connection points on the cover is bent or broken. Although it is alarming to have your side mirror covers come off, the part is usually replaceable at a dealer's workshop. This speculation could be due to her riding ahead of traffic along this stretch of straight road – it is impossible to cycle faster than cars and motorcycles alongside her. Suitability for cycling on the road Her bicycle looks like an ordinary bicycle but upon closer inspection, you will realise that there is no seat attached to her bicycle. This leads me to this question: How the hell does someone ride a bicycle for a prolonged period without even sitting down? If you’re familiar with the bonus stages in Street Fighter 2, you’ll remember whacking the crap out of a car to get additional points for a high score. We have a Singapore version But unlike Ryu and Ken, this guy uses a motorcycle helmet on a taxi. Here’s the video. The incident happened at Keat Hong Close, Bukit Batok, Singapore. And another angle Why so triggered Based on the video, it’s unclear why the 90s Ah Beng look alike got so heated up. He walks around the taxi yelling profanities and smashing his helmet all over even though there was a child on board. What are the damages? Broken mirror. Make that two mirrors Broken rear window. How much force does one need to use to cause this? And of course, multiple dents and knocks all over the taxi. Police brought in In the video, a male passenger can be heard talking to the authorities on the phone. Is this the driver's first time in an MSCP? A seemingly inexperienced Mercedes E300 driver attempts to turn left in WCEGA Plaza and ends up hitting a parked car instead. Upon watching this short clip, there is honestly nothing that can be said to defend the driver's mistake. Despite the carpark being full, the lanes are extremely wide and spacious, which makes it easier for drivers to manoeuvre around. Additionally, a left turn is one of the most basic moves taught during driving school and most drivers should be able to make a sharp left turn from circuit training. With that being said, the fact that this Mercedes driver is able to hit a parked car while turning left in such a spacious area makes me question his driving abilities and sobriety. Is he a really bad driver or just a blur sotong? WCEGA Plaza Located at Bukit Batok, WCEGA Plaza is an industrial building filled mainly with car workshops and dealers. Its structure is similar to that of other carmarts in Singapore, such as Automobile Megamart. While the purpose of the driver's visit to this carmart is unknown, it is possible that the car that had been hit belonged to a car dealer (aka a brand new car). No matter what, the price that this Mercedes driver has to pay is astronomical. Urban myth As drivers, we all have heard of the myth that the police will always penalise the driver for knocking down a cyclist (or pedestrians too) - even if they don't look out for traffic. It's common beliefs like this that make drivers extremely anxious when they encounter run-ins with cyclists. However, one fellow driver proved this belief wrong as he shared his experience after getting in an accident with a cyclist. According to the Facebook post by Jacky Ang, he was driving out of a carpark in Ang Mo Kio in July when a cyclist appeared unexpectedly. Not wanting to hit the cyclist, Mr Ang stepped on his brakes. After seeing the cyclist fall in front of his vehicle, he stepped out of his car and offered to help. The day after The day after this incident, Mr Ang said that he had contacted the cyclist and offered to send him to the clinic for his injuries. However, the cyclist rejected his offer. A few days later, the cyclist sent Mr Ang a message wanting to claim his car insurance for his medical bills. Luckily for him, Mr Ang had already made a police report on the day of the accident. In the end After conducting initial investigations, the Singapore Traffic Police told Mr Ang that they will be charging the cyclist for failing to stop and look out for oncoming traffic. Relieved, Mr Ang posted about his experience online, encouraging other drivers to not be afraid of placing a police report for road incidents. TL;DR – A parked C-HR with p-plates suddenly accelerates and almost mauls a father and son at an open-air carpark. Things would have gotten ugly if they had been one second slower. There can be miracles While some of us might not be believers, a recent video uploaded on Roads.sg might change your mind. The incident occurred on 10th September 2021. Here’s the 35-second video: A one-second difference between life and death In an open-air carpark, location unknown, a father and his son casually walk past a cam car. If you observe the video, you’ll notice a black Toyota C-HR directly opposite the cam car slowly inching forward as the father and son enter the frame. The C-HR then suddenly accelerates and crashes into the cam car just as the lucky duo clears the danger. If it had been a second earlier, the father and son would have been caught in the collision. Let’s address the elephant in the room I’m sure everyone noticed the p-plates on the C-HR. Could it be because of the driver’s inexperience? Or it could have been a case of the driver talking on his phone? He was wearing his wireless earphones. And, if so, why wasn't his handbrake up? What do you do when you are rushing for time (for whatever reason), and the odds are stacked against you? Watch how this Honda Shuttle "skips" a red light by taking a shortcut: What happened? This incident took place along Corporation Road, at the junction of Yung Sheng Road. In the dashcam footage, a red Honda Shuttle is seen driving aggressively behind the cam car. Moments later, as the Honda Shuttle approaches the red traffic light, he slows down abruptly. And just when you think he is about to come to a complete stop... He decides to swerve to the nearby filter lane, perform an illegal U-Turn, and go to another filter lane to "skip" that red light (Intelligence +10). Thinking out of the box Undoubtedly, this driver possesses quick thinking and decisive skills, which are used for the wrong reasons. Like the one featured in the video, such manoeuvres should not be performed as they are purely reckless and hazardous to other road users. Exploiting a loophole? According to Chapter 276, Section 112 Part IV No. 54 of the Road Traffic Act, crossing a single continuous white line is allowed only when the road ahead is clear. Don't be mistaken, this is no loophole. What the driver doesn't realise is the fact that he did not obey traffic directions as indicated. Although it is uncertain how many offences he committed, I am pretty sure he has committed at least 1 offence from the "skip traffic light" Jutsu. Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. The conflict between motorists and cyclists never ends. Every time it happens, a dashcam video emerges on the internet for us to spectate the drama between them. Here's one such video that occurred over the weekend. Where? The incident occurred at Kranji dam, along Kranji Way, which is a two-lane road. It seems as if Tour de Singapore is the favourite pastime of Singaporeans these days and it's commonplace to see big groups of cyclists on the road nowadays (as though the pandemic is already over). Road regulation reminder for cyclists Cycling abreast is allowed, but only on roads with more than one lane in the same direction. Below is an example where cyclists are allowed to cycle abreast. In this case, cycling abreast is prohibited since Kranji Way is a two-lane road going in opposite directions. Increasing the number of cyclists does not mean you can flout the regulations. Don't give me that 'strength in numbers' bull crap. The Van Driver The van driver was obviously feeling a tad bit frustrated from the road hogging of the entire kampong of cyclists. As such, he took matters into his own hands by crossing the double white lines to go against the traffic flow to dangerously overtake (but failed) the group of cyclists. That's three offences committed within quick succession of one another – The perfect formula to getting your license suspended or revoked. Netizens' Comments Straight facts. Asking for it In this short 20-second clip, a wrecked car with a popped-up bonnet ran headfirst into the rear of a stationary Honda Civic. According to online sources, this incident occurred at Midview City. Considering the number of repair shops located there, online chatter suggests that a workshop personnel was behind the wheel of that wrecked vehicle. Moments of convenience, hundreds (or thousands) of dollars in claims The real question here - Is it even legal to drive this wrecked car around at all? Although it may be a short distance to a nearby workshop within Midview City's compound, the car's condition suggests that it would have been unwise to drive it. Given its current state, it should be towed to the workshop directly. See lah, kay kiang drive this damaged car around, now kena accident. Some people might say that the Honda Civic should have parked his car at a proper parking lot instead of alongside the road. However, it may be ridiculous to attribute any fault to the Honda Civic for this silly accident. Regardless, I hope the Honda Civic's owner can claim for the damages. Biker whacks side mirror of innocent Mazda 6 like an angry cat

With a torrential rainstorm hitting Singapore yesterday, drivers experienced high tensions as they braved the rain during the morning peak hours. One driver, however, was not so lucky and did not escape the wrath of a motorcyclist. As the first few seconds of this video rolled by, I was already irritated by the sight of the slow-moving vehicles crawling their way through the underpass along Farrer Road. However, when the motorcyclist lined himself beside the Mazda just before entering the underpass, I knew something interesting was going to happen. As the motorcyclist unsuccessfully attempted to lane-split, he found himself stuck behind the black Mazda 6 throughout the entire underpass. Presumably annoyed that the congested roads did not open for him, the motorcyclist crept close to the Mazda to squeeze through the tiny gaps in between the lanes. Unable to get his way, the angry biker zoomed past the car once the roads were clearing up and expressed his emotions with an angry whack to the Mazda 6's side mirror. Very much like this angry cat here. What is lane-splitting? Just in case you were lost earlier when I mentioned it. Defined as 'riding a bicycle or motorcycle between roadway lanes of vehicles driving in the same direction', it is common for motorcyclists to perform lane splitting in slow-moving traffic. The main argument for this act is because lane-splitting prevents motorcycles from overheating. When a running motorcycle is at a standstill or edging forward for an extended period, the vehicle heats up quickly. Hence, riders must keep moving, even in congested traffic. However, lane-splitting is incredibly inconsiderate to other road users. Although it is tolerated by traffic laws when done safely, it puts the motorcyclist at a higher risk of getting crushed by a larger vehicle. Unless there is adequate space in between lanes, riders should avoid lane-splitting at all costs. Instead, the best way to manoeuvre through congested roads would be to practice care and anticipation. Better to stay safe than sorry! Toyota Hiace drives against traffic on Changi Road as cool as a cucumber

Today, we have a Toyota Hiace driver that might have allowed water to seep inside his brain while driving in the rain. He drives against traffic flow along Changi Road towards the city and cuts across three lanes to turn into Siglap Ave. The best part is, he's driving calmly as if he's doing nothing wrong when in actual fact, he's scaring everybody As a driver myself, Singapore roads are extremely easy to navigate. I admit that I've driven against traffic before albeit in a carpark but never on a main road. Anyways, I digress. Here's the video. Where is this place? Gungho right? This is where the incident happend, courtesy of Google Maps. Maybe he made a wrong turn after pumping petrol at ESSO? For the folks here, when driving, please watch out for "unusual vehicle" and don't assume that everyone follows road regulations. Do not hesitate to alert them of their wrongdoings to prevent somebody from getting hurt. -
TL;DR – A valet service turns sour for a car owner as her valet driver beats a set of red lights, and she loses all cool when he tries to attempt to do it a second time. Adulting After having a couple of drinks, if you drove to your destination, the responsible adult thing to do would be to call a valet service to pick you up and drive you home. Which is what this car owner did. But I would say her experience with the valet service was less than satisfactory and borderline horrific. If the light had just turned from amber to red, I would have given the driver the benefit of the doubt. However, it’s evident that there was more than enough time to stop, but he didn’t. Even the owner of the car could sense something was going awry. Red light 2 Now I’m going to try and translate the conversation (to the best of my ability) for the non-mandarin speaking readers when the valet driver tries to beat the second set of red lights. Road rage incidents in Singapore has hit a new low with this uncle and angrily ripping off the windshield wiper of the vehicle that impeded his van from exiting a parallel parking lot with ease. I don’t know about you but there is something about the way that this uncle expresses his anger that makes me chuckle. The way that he rips off a windshield wiper before attempting to leave in his van is super comedic and entertaining. By looking at the footage, it seems that the cam car might have trapped his van in the parallel parking lot. However, after the uncle goals all "HULK SMASH" on the wiper, the van managed to leave the lot albeit after a 1001-point turn. Looks like there’s a new kind of pedestrian on the streets of Singapore. Why did the chicken cross the road? I never understood that joke. Partially because there’s hardly any free-roaming chickens in most districts and because I have never actually seen a chicken cross a road until today. The chicken looked confused by the environment as it went back and forth on the first half of the road. However, it seemed to realise that it wasn’t safe to be on the road as it dashed across at lightning speed to the pavement on the other end. Games have been made I get why ‘Crossy Road’ features a chicken in its game now. Are you smarter than a chicken? If a chicken can wait for the green man to cross the road, why can't we? There has been a rise in local cases of drivers hitting jaywalkers in Singapore – all because they were too impatient to wait for the green man. The most recent high-profile case involved a jaywalking man somersaulting in the air after getting hit by a van in Sengkang in May this year. Luckily for him, he was brought to Khoo Teck Puat hospital immediately and managed to survive while sustaining several injuries. Another recent case was featured on MCF and it involved two jaywalking uncles shuffling across the road when the red man was on. As the yellow cab zoomed past the crossing, it brushed past both jaywalkers which gave the driver an unnecessary scare. According to the Singapore Police Force, elderly pedestrians account for more than 80% of fatal road accidents in 2020, with half of these accidents involving jaywalking.
