  1. Breaking News: http://sg.sports.yahoo.com/news/chelsea-sa...46564--sow.html So it looks like possible replacements are Rafael Benitez (who has been out of a job for more than a year), Pep Guardiola (on a sabbatical), or Harry Redknapp. Who does it look likely to be the next manager?
  2. Jack and Jill both worked at the same office and held similar positions. Steve, their boss knew that due to hard economic times, he had to lay one of them off. They were both equally skilled at their jobs, so he decided he'd lay off the first person to leave at the end of the day. They both left at the same time, so he decided to lay off the person who took lunch first, but they both ate their lunch at their desks. So finally, he decided to just ask them. He meets Jill in the parking garage after work and asks her "Hey, as you know the company has fallen on hard times, and I need to make a difficult decision", and she says "Ya huh", he continues "and so I was debating whether I should lay you, or Jack off". She replies "I think you'd better just jack off, I'm already late for an appointment!".
  3. Latest victim of sacking in EPL is the manager of Wigan manager Chris Hutchings. He is the fourth person to get the boots this year. As reported in the ESPN Soccernet :- "Hutchings was relieved of his duties this morning after just seven months in charge following a dismal start to the Barclays Premier League season. The Latics slipped into the bottom three after Chelsea condemned them to a sixth successive defeat on Saturday. Wigan actually started the season well with two wins in their opening three games, enough to see them briefly top the table, but there has been little joy in the nine games since. Hutchings, who took charge after Paul Jewell's resignation at the end of last season, has cited injuries as a factor behind the team's slump and feels he has been shown the door too hastily. The 50-year-old told Sky Sports News: 'I'm very disappointed in the decision the chairman has made and disappointed we couldn't carry on the work we have started. Hutchings was promoted to the Latics' hot seat after impressing as Jewell's number two during the club's rise to the top flight for the first time in their history. He made 10 summer signings in a bid to consolidate but results have not matched expectations. The club's decision to axe Hutchings brings to an end a second unhappy managerial posting for the former Chelsea defender. He also succeeded Jewell at Bradford in 2000 but that proved a similarly short stint. Wigan chief executive Brenda Spencer said: 'We have been looking at this over the last few weeks. The results have just not been going for us. Attention will now turn to his successor with former Liverpool, Blackburn and Newcastle manager Graeme Souness having emerged as an early favourite. Two bookmakers tonight suspended betting on the Scot taking charge at the JJB Stadium but Souness is also thought to be interested in the Republic of Ireland vacancy. Jewell has also been linked with a return but Wigan say they have no particular candidate in mind and will conduct a thorough search." Liverpoo......... Rafa could be the number fifth in line if he continue to draw matches with weaker teams.....
  4. Reported in ESPN Soccernet:- "Tottenham have confirmed the departure of Martin Jol as manager following the UEFA Cup defeat to Getafe. Spurs issued a statement revealing the board asked Jol and assistant Chris Hughton to stand down, contrary to earlier reports that the Dutchman had resigned. Chairman Daniel Levy said: 'Our greatest wish was to see results turn in our favour and for there to be no need for change.' Tottenham Hotspur have sacked their Dutch manager Martin Jol, the Premier League club said in a statement on Thursday. 'We can confirm that the board has this evening asked Martin Jol, the club manager, and Chris Hughton, the first team coach, to stand down from their positions with immediate effect,' the statement read. Bizarrely Jol, who took over from Jaques Santini in 2004, was in the dugout for Tottenham's 2-1 UEFA Cup defeat by Spanish club Getafe on Thursday as rumours circulated that his three-year reign was at an end. The 51-year-old has been tipped for the sack all season since highly fancied Tottenham lost their opening Premier League game against newly promoted Sunderland." Poor Jol , I remember in 2005, he gave a press statement that he is better than Rafa after leading Spurs to 5th position and indeed, he is one step better for being sack earlier than Rafa...... . If Rafa keep his rotation policy, he be next in line............. Who knows, he could be heading to Bolton Wanderer as currently, the club have no manager.
