At the same time, Consumer Reports, an independent organisation that publishes reviews and comparisons of consumer products, announced that Subaru won the Consumer Reports Top Picks of 2015 in three categories. In addition, Subaru was ranked 5th overall in the automotive brand ranking. The accident occurred along Nicole Drive towards Changi Coastal Road. The dashcam footage shows the cam car, a black SUV and a motorcyclist travelling together in the same direction. When they were approaching an intersection, a random Subaru Forester appeared out of nowhere - stuck in the middle of the road after performing an illegal u-turn. Despite braking for a good 5 seconds, the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and collided with the side of the Subaru Forester's rear section. As a result, the motorcyclist lost his balance and fell to the ground, along with his motorcycle. Something Fishy Is Going On Subsequently, the passenger of the Forester came out of the SUV to "check" on the damages. After glancing at the damages, he proceeded to open the driver's side door and took over as the driver, while the initial driver of the Forester went to the back seat. The video ends when the Subaru Forester and motorcyclist stop further down the road at the roadside. @Cam car After watching the video carefully, here's what grinds my gears: It is the part where the cam car constantly flashes his high beam at the Subaru Forester as he approaches it. FYI, flashing your high beams in that manner would not prevent an accident - Look what happened to the motorcyclist. Netizens' Comments Maybe because that intersection wasn't made for u-turns to be performed there? Highly likely. I am starting this new thread/topic on Subaru EyeSight as there have been many discussions among the Impreza, XV and Forester forums, and many Owners are cautious about having solar film fitted to the front windscreen. I collected my SK Forester last week and has been exploring the EyeSight system since then. Let's start with MI disclaimer whereby buyer has to put his/her signature on the declaration form. In my opinion, the disclaimer is very relevant. Why is this so? The EyeSight system allows the driver to drive with it OR to manually switch-off either lane-departure detection or pre-collision braking or both features altogether. The 2 switches are located on the cabin roof, above the rear view mirror. In other words, Subaru (or anybody else) will not know whether the EyeSight was in operation should a front collision occurs. Also, EyeSight will not work above 60 km/h (+ / - ). What will happen if a crazy driver drives at high speed and crash his Subie and then seek legal compensation from Subaru for the "defective" EyeSight system. I am sure all other car manufacturers that offer driver assist crash avoidance system will insist buyers to sign the Disclaimer form. At the end of the day, the driver is still fully responsible for the vehicle safety, not technology. To be continued ...

Wonder why choosing the right car is so important? The 'I LOVE SUBARU' Facebook Group page recently uploaded pictures of a totaled Subaru Forester. With the windscreen and front frame completely totaled, you would imagine that those in the car could not have left without serious injuries. But thankfully, no grisly photos of the driver follow beyond just a slightly bruised leg. Aren't modern cars a real thing of wonder? The best part of the story is in the caption: The owner of the vehicle, Mr. Jacky Yew is now fit to proceed with his wedding planned for the end of the month! Mr Yew was driving a forth generation Subaru Forester near Yong Peng, Malaysia in the extreme right lane, with two trucks which were in the adjacent lane to his left. When a tyre on the first truck burst and flew off, the second truck was forced to take evasive action. In doing so, the second truck served abruptly into Mr Yew's lane. Mr Yew could not brake in time and collided into the back of the second truck. But after suffering only minor injuries on his right leg, he has apparently walked off from the accident and into a Subaru showroom to get himself... Another Forester! Mr Yew is collecting his fifth generation Forester just one week after the accident. He says, "I may not have made it to my wedding on 30 November if I was not driving a Subaru Forester. I am glad I drive a Subaru and I am grateful it has saved my life. That is why I immediately placed an order for the new Forester, just two days after my accident." The post states that "Subaru takes tremendous pride in safety engineering. We can't predict the future, but we can be better prepared for every possible outcome." We wish Mr Yew all the best for his marriage! (Even if it already looks like he has plenty of lady luck on his side)

As above for discussion. Example - NX200 wheelbase is 2660mm, whilst Forrester 2.0 is 2640mm. But I "felt" the NX200 a bit tight as compared with the latter. Food for thought.

The third generation Subaru Forester has been around for several years now and it is time for a new model. That model received numerous changes especially in terms of size. It is bigger in terms of dimensions and it looks more bulky compared to its predecessor. The new Forester now sits on a longer wheelbase and it is slightly longer, wider and taller. Although it may be bigger in dimensions but the new model still retains the overall look of the third generation model. Subaru has finally unveiled the fourth generation Forester, ahead of its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The new model will be available with two types of engine options. Firstly, the naturally aspirated model (second image from top) comes with a 2.5-litre four cylinder Boxer engine. This engine makes around 170bhp and 235Nm of torque. The turbocharged variant (top most image) comes fitted with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder Boxer engine which churns out around 250bhp and 350Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated model is fitted with either a six speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic CVT. The turbocharged model comes with a high-torque CVT gearbox with 6-speed and 8-speed manual modes and Hill Descent Control. Subaru
