  1. Kia Concept EV9 if officially previewed as a large and boxy electric SUV. This EV9 Concept will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 17 Nov 2021, together with the Hyundai Seven Concept (preview of the upcoming Ioniq 7).
  2. Following sister car Hyundai Kona's launch, Kia pulled the wraps off the Stonic, their version of the compact crossover. Personally, I prefer the look of this over the Kona although it's clear that the Stonic looks just like a raised up Rio hatchback with an identical interior as the Rio too.
  3. Is it just me, but the front look like borrowed from an Opel SUV... BMW will kick off a new chapter of its electrification strategy in 2025 with the launch of a new platform for electric vehicles. The Neue Klasse (New Class) architecture will underpin at least six new zero-emissions SUVs and today, these spy photos provide an early look at one of those electric models in prototype form. Our spies in Germany sent us a batch of spy shots with what is currently known as the NA5 project, which is expected to arrive in the summer of 2025. The high-riding EV here is believed to be roughly the same size as today’s X3. However, smarter packaging combined with longer overhangs should result in a bigger storage area behind the rear seats, as well as a roomier cabin. In August last year, BMW confirmed the first product to be based on the Neue Klasse platform will be an electric sedan. It will be followed by this SUV here and some sources even claim it will arrive first. We won’t speculate on that topic but we’ll mention production of the electric family hauler is expected to begin in July 2025 in Hungary. “By the end of the decade, the Neue Klasse is expected to account for more than half of our sales,” BMW’s CEO Oliver Zipse said last year.
  4. Basically a Toyota Yaris Cross in a tuxedo. Rumors of a fancier Yaris Cross have been swirling around for years and now the Lexus LBX is officially here. Positioned below the UX and serving as the new entry-level model, the tiny crossover is an indirect replacement for the defunct CT hatchback. It rides on the same GA-B platform as its Toyota sibling but with different styling to better fit Lexus' design language both inside and out. The LBX is 4,190 millimeters long, 1,825 mm wide, and 1,545 mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Riding on 18-inch wheels as standard equipment, the petite Lexus is actually slightly bigger than the Yaris Cross and tips the scales at 1,280 kilograms. It will be offered with a choice between front- and all-wheel drive, with all configurations coming exclusively with a continuously variable transmission. At the heart of the LBX is a hybrid powertrain based around a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It produces a combined output of 134 horsepower (100 kilowatts - just nice in cat A) and a maximum torque of 185 Newton-meters. It's enough electrified punch for a 0 to 100 km/h run in 9.2 seconds and a maximum towing capacity of 750 kilograms. All versions of the latest Lexus get a MacPherson strut front suspension while the rear uses a torsion beam for the FWD models and a double wishbone if you opt for AWD. Although the technical specifications for the latter have yet to be disclosed but it will add an electric motor at the rear. Interestingly, the small crossover has an aluminum hood as well as molded resin wheel arches, rockers, and lower door sections to keep weight down. Stepping inside, the LBX boasts a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster with an optional head-up display joined by a 9.8-inch touchscreen. The infotainment supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only the former has wireless connectivity. Lexus has once again teamed up with Mark Levinson, which supplies the 13-speaker sound system that comes along with a subwoofer. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and you get a cargo capacity of 332 liters with the rear seats in place. The AWD-equipped LBX is likely to be less practical due to the extra hardware installed at the back. Lexus mentions it hasn't made any compromises in terms of quality and attention even though this is the new entry-level model. The LBX is the company's first model for which development primarily took place in Europe. It's scheduled to enter production by the end of this year and go on sale in Europe along with additional markets in early 2024.
  5. https://electricvehicleweb.in/toyota-corolla-cross-preliminary-details/amp/ https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/toyota-corolla-cross-2021-rendered-new-mini-rav4-hybrid-coming-to-lure-you-out-of-a-kia Baby RAV4? Looks like Toyota will be releasing a new CUV in thailand and I think likely to come to sg. But really, too many CUVs on the road and no characteristics. This model likely to take over the CHR to be the next popular phv vehicle.
  6. The new Audi Q6 e-tron (not to be confused with the larger 7 seater version for Chinese market) marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. With a new platform, electronics architecture, charging and battery technology, as well as a pioneering design for Audi, the Q6 e-tron paves the way to Audi's all-electric future. It is the first production model based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This makes the all-electric SUV with its new E3 1.2 electronic architecture the new reference for Vorsprung durch Technik. With the Q6 e-tron series, e-mobility is coming from the Ingolstadt plant for the first time. The Q6 e-tron will compete directly with BMW upcoming iX3, which is built on a dedicated platform for Vision Neue Klasse X. Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro S Line Audi SQ6 e-tron
  7. A handsome looking 7 seater (better looking than the 2nd gen Skoda Kodiaq imo), in the latest iteration. The third-generation Peugeot 5008 plugs into Europe's already crowded SUV segment in more ways than one. It's available with a fully electric drivetrain but you can also have the three-row family hauler with a plug-in hybrid setup. Alternatively, the French brand part of Stellantis plans to sell a cheaper mild-hybrid model as well. Essentially, the new 5008 is an enlarged version of the latest 3008 introduced in 2023. It sits on the STLA Medium platform and has the following dimensions: 4,788mm long, 1,890mm wide, and 1,689mm tall, with a generous wheelbase of 2,898mm. While SUVs nowadays tend to have swoopy rooflines, the new Peugeot 5008 retains the boxy shape of its predecessor to maximize interior space. It largely inherits the design of its E-3008 smaller brother, complete with the same 21-inch display positioned atop the dashboard. There are also 10 customizable touch controls providing shortcuts to often-used functions accessible from the center console. The most affordable version will be powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter gasoline engine fitted with 48V technology. This tiny three-cylinder mill sends 136 horsepower to the front wheels via a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission featuring a built-in electric motor. The plug-in hybrid combines a 150-hp combustion engine with a 123-hp electric motor for a total system output of 195 hp channeled through a seven-speed, dual-clutch auto. This PHEV can cover more than 80Km on electric power before the gas engine starts feeding from the 60L fuel tank. Then there’s the fully electric E-5008 model available in multiple configurations. The single-motor, front-wheel-drive versions come with 210 hp and 228 hp, both of which offer an instant torque of 254 pound-feet. Step up to the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive model, and the combined output is rated at 318 hp. Stick to the front-wheel-drive model and Peugeot installs a 73.0-kilowatt-hour battery good for 500Km. The bigger 98.0-kWh pack means fewer stops at a charging station since the range grows to 660Km. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version gets the bigger battery but efficiency takes a hit due to the vehicle's higher curb weight. Those batteries are guaranteed for eight years or 100,000 miles during which Peugeot is sure charging capacity won't drop below 70 percent. A heat pump comes as standard, as does the 11-kW charger. You can optionally get a 22-kilowatt charger, while DC charging can support up to 160 kW. In this case, it takes 10 minutes to put enough energy in the battery for 100Km. Spending half an hour at a charging station replenishes the battery from 20 to 80 percent.
  8. Wonder what the possible pricing will be... Launching during next month's car show... http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/article.php?AID=14442 If it is about Vezel or Qashqai pricing... Maybe can sell like hot cakes...?
  9. Entry-level BEV from Škoda, Epiq. Small becomes epic: Škoda Auto has revealed the name of its battery-electric city SUV crossover, along with a design study showing a first glimpse of the new model. The Škoda Epiq, due to be unveiled in 2025, will cost around 25,000 euros. At 4.1 metres in length, it will feature a spacious interior and up to 490 litres of luggage capacity. The vehicle will fully incorporate the powerful, functional and authentic new Modern Solid design language – inside and out. This will be complemented by a flawless digital experience, with new technologies and assistance features. The new digital design study released by Škoda highlights key features and characteristics of the future production vehicle. At 4.1 metres in length, the Škoda Epiq city SUV crossover will have plenty of space for five people and a luggage capacity of up to 490 litres. With an entry-level price starting at around 25,000 euros, it is the perfect choice for customers new to electric mobility. It fully incorporates the powerful new Modern Solid design language – inside and out – and offers a maximum electric range of more than 400 kilometres. The new Modern Solid design language combines robustness, functionality and authenticity. The Škoda Epiq design study features a sculpted bonnet bearing a new Škoda wordmark. Its Tech-Deck Face in glossy black is a modern reinterpretation of the familiar Škoda grille and houses electrical devices like the distance radar and the front camera. The Tech-Deck Face is flanked by bifunctional, T-shaped LED elements for the daytime running lights and indicators. The front headlamps are in a lower, secondary position. Their light modules have a cubist-inspired design and feature Matrix LED technology. The robust front bumper comes with a striking spoiler painted in Unique Dark Chrome. The side view is characterised by a high, sweeping tornado line that visually separates the greenhouse from the rest of the body and emphasises the car’s powerful shoulders. The wheel arches below are picked out with a striking trim and house aerodynamically optimised wheels. The low, gently sloping roof line merges into a roof spoiler for optimal aerodynamic efficiency. The rear also features a robust bumper and Škoda lettering in Unique Dark Chrome on the tailgate. The minimalist look of the Škoda Epic design study is underlined by the matt metallic paintwork in bright Moon White. Flashy Orange detailing on the roof rails and the wheels as well as on the front and rear bumpers add visual interest. The Škoda Epiq will be the first production vehicle to feature a minimalist Modern Solid interior focusing on durable, practical and sustainable materials. It has an open storage compartment that includes a wireless mobile phone charger in the free-floating centre console as well as Simply Clever compartments for even more storage options. The boot also benefits from some of the brand’s hallmark Simply Clever details such as bag hooks, cargo elements, fastening hooks and a hidden underfloor compartment. The two-spoke steering wheel showcases the new Škoda lettering as well as physical buttons and haptic scroll wheels with Flashy Orange accents to control key functions while driving. The mobile digital key enables a wide range of interactions via the customer’s smart device, thus enhancing the user’s digital experience. This underlines the consistent customer focus of Škoda’s “mobile first” approach designed to make drivers’ everyday lives easier. The Škoda Epiq also supports bidirectional charging, transforming the car into a rolling energy storage unit that can feed excess electric energy into the customer’s home and other appliances. The Škoda Epiq will be a milestone in Škoda history, which is emphasised by its distinctive and easily recognisable name. It fits perfectly into the nomenclature of Škoda’s BEV SUV models: the E at the beginning stands for a battery-electric Škoda model, while the Q at the end identifies it as a member of the brand’s SUV family. Epiq is derived from the ancient Greek word “epos”, which stands for “word” or “verse”, but also for “tale” or “poem”. The name evokes positive associations such as amazing, great, extraordinary and remarkable. With its clever features and versatility, the Škoda Epiq aims to fulfil the needs of both family- and lifestyle-oriented customers. The city SUV crossover will be made in Pamplona, Spain, as a joint development and production project of Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core representatives Škoda, Cupra and Volkswagen. Škoda Auto is committed to investing billions of euros into its transformation towards e-mobility in the coming years. The Škoda Elroq, a battery-electric compact SUV, will be the first vehicle to be launched as part of the upcoming electric model campaign, with its debut scheduled for later this year.
  10. It look larger and sleeker... The length and size of the rear quart window pointing to a 7 seater variant?!
  11. After its introduction of its current form in 1998, all new Jimny coming next year, after 20 years. Next-gen Suzuki Jimny 4×4 undisguised images leakedhttps://paultan.org/2017/08/25/next-gen-suzuki-jimny-4x4-undisguised-images-leaked/ The Suzuki Jimny has been around in its current third-generation form for almost a decade now, but the tiny off-roader is set to get a reboot at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show that happens in October. Images of the next-generation Suzuki Jimny have now been leaked ahead of its Tokyo debut, and it shows the new car undisguised. The images you see here are likely to be from official presentation slides. They show a very square cut 4×4 that recalls the second-generation Jimny’s more basic design. Tall sides, big glass areas and vertical slats on the grille provide the link to Jimnys past, but the toy-like face is also modern and fits in well with Suzuki’s cool range of small cars – the Alto, Hustler and Ignis are all cute little things. The Jimny is no modern crossover, and will likely retain all of its famous off-road capabilities. A tailgate-mounted spare wheel keeps it real and chunky overfenders and black bumpers hint at its purpose. There’s also a look at the new Jimny’s interior. The dashboard is typically shallow and upright, and while there are similarities with the Ignis, it’s clear that Suzuki went for a ‘tough’ look with overtly rugged cues – see the instrument binnacle and exposed “bolts”. There’s a big infotainment screen in the middle. No specs leaked along with the pics, but possible engines could include Suzuki’s 1.0 litre three-cylinder “Boosterjet” turbo and a naturally-aspirated 1.2 litre four-cylinder unit from the Ignis. As a kei-car in Japan, a 660cc turbo triple is regulation. Suzuki Jimny Replacement Spotted On Public Roads For The First Timehttp://www.carscoops.com/2017/08/suzuki-jimny-replacement-spotted-on.html
  12. Compared to the current X1, the grill seems to be wider by not as tall?
  13. I've always wanted to own an SUV, with the commanding position, high hip point for entry and good boot size. So I recently decided to take a walk around the showrooms, with a basic search and some requirements: - five seats minimum, seven is a bonus, but basically a good size rather than a tiny one - high hip point - good boot size - not too slow 0-100 (under 11) - I'll need storage, good safety and things that a family with a young baby will appreciate I don't speed, but sometimes you need a bit of zoom to join traffic and drive up Genting or overtake and I do go to M'sia often. That also means EVs are a bit more tricky My mileage is low, 10-12k a year on average. Now, my car isn't due for another 3 plus years, but I wanted to see what's out there and I'm just sharing my findings here and my choices are purely personal, as YMMV.. I didn't have a specific budget, but I soon realised that most of the choices hover around the 200k mark, and this is almost twice what they used to cost due to the COE. Hybrids aren't my first choice due to my low mileage, and the cost of a battery replacement is a big deal, so even EVs are a bit tricky, but the number of petrol only cars are limited. The EV motors are also not great for the Malaysia jaunts, and CVTs are less desirable than autos, but you have to be careful which DCT you choose.. Cheers

  15. Porsche will present the new all-electric Macan on Thursday, 25 January 2024. The second generation of the successful SUV will be unveiled in Singapore, with the world premiere broadcast live in the Porsche Newsroom. Shortly before the world premiere of the new Porsche Macan, Michael Mauer discusses the challenge of updating the familiar design of the successful SUV. “The new Macan is the first model that we are electrifying from an existing, established product identity,” says the Vice President Style Porsche. In his view, “every new sports car has to be very clearly recognisable as part of the Porsche product family and the model in question, but also has to be perceived as ‘the new one’”. Mauer believes that this visual consistency is critical for the Porsche brand. Striking the right balance between “quintessentially Porsche” and “innovative” is a tricky proposition at times, admits the designer. The switch from an internal combustion engine to an all-electric powertrain in the Macan posed a challenge for the Style Porsche team while offering new possibilities. Stay tuned for more updates.
  16. Opel Singapore has just launched the new Crossland X. Launch Price at SGD102,888. Probably replacing the Mokka X. http://www.opel.com.sg/vehicles/opel-range/cars/crossland-x/index.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw6ZLOBRALEiwAxzyCW1ILCXQTrvI_kHyJxhRfIt6y_wjbCpR6qwbymj0Xb-sgO2ZzG9zHMBoC438QAvD_BwE https://www.carzone.ie/reviews/new-car-reviews/Opel/Crossland-X/2017/548/ Farewell to Opel ’s family favourite, the Meriva, and hello to the car that replaces it for 2017, the Crossland X . The new Crossland X takes aim at popular cars like the Nissan Juke and Renault's Captur, and it blends downscaled SUV looks with impressive levels of interior space. It’s also the first Opel to be built under the German manufacturer’s merge with Peugeot PSA, so it is based on the same platform as the latest Peugeot 2008. We recently took the Crossland X for a week-long test drive on Irish roads to see if has the recipe for success in an increasingly competitive corner of the market. The Crossland X shares many styling similarities the popular Opel Mokka X SUV, although it isn’t as rugged from the outside. Features like the front grille and rear lights are recognisable from other cars in Opel ’s range, while its raised ride height and tall bumpers lend it an SUV stance. Choice of specification in Ireland consists of two models, SC and SE, while the base specification SC gets 16-inch alloy wheels and distinctive LED daytime running lights as standard. Our test car is a higher specification SE model, so it gains larger 17-inch alloy wheels and dark tinted windows. The Crossland X is more spacious inside than you would expect, with excellent head and leg room for front and rear seat passengers. Space in the rear is particularly impressive due to the flat floor, and boot space is respectable at 410 litres, trump rivals like the Nissan Juke. There is also an optional versatility pack which allows the rear seat bench to slide forwards and backwards and further increases boot space. The driving position is high which means it offers a commanding view of the road, and there’s enough support from the seats for comfort during longer drives. The quality of the plastics throughout the cabin is mostly good, but they are scratchy in certain areas such as beneath the steering wheel and lower doors. It’s nice to note that all Crossland X models have a user-friendly 7-inch colour touchscreen system in the centre of the dashboard as standard, incorporating Opel ’s Intellilink system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also included is Opel ’s OnStar with a Wi-Fi hotspot, roadside assistance call out and lots of other features too, so it's fair to say that the Crossland X is more connected and smartphone-friendly than many of its rivals. The Crossland X is available with either a 1.2-litre petrol engine available in two different states of tune (81hp or 110hp), or a larger 1.6-litre CDTi diesel engine in 99hp or 120hp variants. We drove the 120hp 1.6 CDTi diesel with a six-speed-manual gearbox and it offers an ideal mix of performance and economy. 0-100km/h is possible in under ten seconds and it cruises confidently at motorway speeds, while we covered over 600 kilometres of driving in the midlands and managed 5-litres per 100 kilometres of driving in fuel economy (56MPG). The Crossland X has an accommodating suspension setup which means it is comfortable out on the road, but it isn’t very agile through corners. Light steering helps during parking, but again, there is little feedback from the steering when cornering. This is unlikely to affect family buyers who will value comfort over driving dynamics. Despite its SUV looks, the Crossland X isn’t available with four-wheel-drive, but the front-wheel-drive setup offers sufficial amounts of grip. Family buyers will appreciate standard safety features such as lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, rear parking sensors and hill start assist. Our test car has desirable optional extras such as a panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors and Opel ’s lighting pack, but the asking price is bumped up accordingly and it can get expensive quickly. The Crossland X is a worthy successor to the Opel Meriva MPV, bringing more style and desirability than its predecessor. Family buyers will appreciate the Crossland’s generous interior space, along with the strong serving of standard equipment. That said, it feels and looks very similar to the latest Opel Mokka X, so differentiating between the two models can be confusing, and it also isn’t as fun to drive as some of its more-established rivals, such as the Peugeot 2008. Taking all things into account, the Crossland X makes for a well-priced alternative to cars like the Nissan Juke with best-in-class space and practicality.
  17. Good Day to Everyone! Finally got a chance to post and start a new forum myself; I am always looking forward for Lexus owners to share their driving experience, the things to watch out for the cars, maintainance, tyres / spare parts or some recommended service centres to share among all Lexus owners to better use the money when needed to deal with these matters for their cars. Feel free to update and post any replies; thanks for your kind support then!
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydjeFHPDBAk...feature=related Erm if i not worng, today n tml they will have a roadshow in Vivocity.. Feel free to go there to take a look.
  19. Remember the eclipse? His SUV brother is born. Front foggies seems too big though. Remember Mit used to say they may evo their SUVs (somehow they retracted that statement recently). Maybe this is the model they are referring to. Wonder if this will arrive in SG. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g79iujwY930
  20. After the Corolla Cross and new Crown, another iconic Toyota model has been SUV-nised... I seriously hope the trend will stop soon. @Toeknee_33what's your thought? Toyota announced the debut of an all-new model on September 6, which will be streamed live on YouTube from Tokyo, Japan. The automaker didn’t name the model but the official teaser photos showing portions of the front and rear suggest it will be the already-confirmed Century-branded SUV. Stay tuned for more updates. 🙂
  21. To be unveiled in Japan in September 2022. Although it is sized between the HR-V and CR-V, but this new SUV will be replacing the CR-V in the Japanese Market, as they just announced the cease of CR-V production days before introducing this latest ZR-V. A strange move to me. For those of you who are follow motoring news closely, you may find that it look very familiar and that you have seen it somewhere. Well, the same model is available in the USA recently, but using the HR-V nameplate. Another head scratching decisions by Honda...
  22. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/564856/ferrari-purosangue-crossover-new-rendering/ Ferrari recently transitioned from testing the upcoming Purosangue underneath a Maserati Levante test mule to using camouflaged, production-spec bodies of the model. Using recent spy shots and videos as a guide, our artist creates a rendering of what we expect when the camo comes off. The Purosangue has a nose that arches downward from the windshield, and the headlights incorporate into the very tip. There's a large, trapezoidal grille. The openings in the corners have an LED running light on top of them. Along the side, the Purosangue has clean styling with a soft curve along the doors. A sharp crease starting behind the front fender adds a visual flourish to the flank. This rendering doesn't show the Purosangue's rear, and the tail is the part of the body that Ferrari covers up the most. It appears that the arching roof flows into the hatchback. Raised portions of camouflage there hint there is a spoiler at the point where the tail becomes a flatter, horizontal piece. The development vehicles have a pair of exhaust pipes coming out of each lower corner. We expect the finishers to look fancier than the smallish circular tips visible in the spy shots. We still aren't entirely sure what powertrain the Purosangue uses. A video of the crossover driving silently hints at it coming with a hybrid. This engine could be the plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V6 from the 296 GTB where the mill makes 818 horsepower (610 kilowatts) and 546 pound-feet (740 Newton-meters) of torque. Rumors also suggest a V12 option that might come later. The Purosangue rides on Ferrari's new Front Mid Engine Architecture. This platform puts the engine behind the front axle and a dual-clutch gearbox that mounts at the rear. It has all-wheel drive. The spy shots and videos show the Purosangue with a fairly low ride height. Although, it might have an adaptive suspension that would be able to lift the vehicle for a more rugged appearance. Don't expect to take this Ferrari rock crawling or racing through the desert, judging by what's visible so far. Ferrari announced the Purosangue way back in 2018 and promised to debut the model before the end of 2022. We should finally get to see the long-awaited model in a few months. Deliveries begin in 2023.
