  1. Anyone got stuck on PIE last evening for more than an hour and half? A few of us in the team did so, no thanks to someone who swerved out at the last minute, causing an accident that required a huge cleaning-up effort from the authorities. Thanks to SG Road Vigilante, we now know what caused the accident which happened at PIE's Steven Road exit in the direction of Jurong, at 630pm. While the accident itself didn't cause any serious injury, it is obvious that the Mazda 3 driver was at fault. According to the comments online, it does look like he or she was trying to avoid a frontal collision in his/her own lane by swerving into lane 2 but that unfortunately meant that the 2 motorcyclists that were lane-spliting, had to fall due to such a move. Kudos to both the tipper truck and the Malaysian van for being reactive to what was happening in front of them!
  2. 28 casualties is quite serious... SINGAPORE - The driver of a private bus was trapped in his vehicle after it collided with a tipper truck on the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) on Tuesday evening. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which received a call about the incident at 6.17pm, freed the man using hydraulic rescue tools. There were a total of 28 casualties, but no fatalities. Thirteen people were sent to the Singapore General Hospital, nine to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and six to Changi General Hospital.
  3. This afternoon, 23 July 2015 @ 1250 hrs, was on my way back to office in Jurong Island. At the junction of Sakra Road and Jurong Island Highway, a tipper truck suddenly turned when I entered the junction. Luckily I was able to brake on time. To think I nearly died. My_Movie.wmv
  4. Driver and passenger rescued from mangled taxi after AYE accident Posted on 23 October 2013 ST PHOTO: NEO XIAOBIN A serious accident involving a tipper truck, a lorry, and a taxi occurred this morning on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE). STOMPer Bary John sent in a photo of the accident to STOMP. According to a report in The Straits Times, a section of the AYE just before Tuas West had to be closed due to the accident. The driver of the taxi and his passenger were trapped inside the vehicle. They have been rescued by SCDF personnel and sent to hospital. The accident occurred at about 9.36am along the AYE towards Tuas close to the Tuas West Exit. How the accident occurred has not been established. cdman_frankie on Wed, 10/23/2013 - 15:16 Passed by at 0850hrs and saw the accident involving the tipper lorry loaded with wet clay, the taxi, one covered van, one 14 footer lorry and one passenger car. The tipper landed on its side and was supported by the taxi which right side was trapped by the center divider railing. Taxi driver was rescued about one hour later with applause from the onlookers and he managed a weak wave to thank them. A total of 5 passing lorry crane which passed by had helped to lift the tipper off from the taxi. SCDF had to cut open the top of the taxi roof top and rescued the passenger about two hours later. I am glad that there are still good souls on the roads who stopped their lorry crane to help, nearby construction workers came and assisted in securing the lifting belts and scooping out the clay out from the taxi interior.
