    Harrier 2017

i went to test drive on sat, sharing my views below Likes - exterior design - size of car, notable presence on the road - sound proofing - boot size is huge - space for rear seat passengers is huge - front sequential turn signals looks cool; would really loveit if they used sequential for back and side signals as well - sunroof Dislikes - touchscreen on dashboard is pathetically small. those in japan seem much bigger ( )- from the boot, there is no lever/button for making the rear seats lie flat - no safety options: blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic monitoring, tyre deflation monitoring - they removed the panoramic view monitor, which i think is available in the japanese brochures - lag before turbo engine kicks in Some excellent reviews here from Richard too: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2705478-harrier-2017/page-7?do=findComment&comment=6159941
  2. Hi seniors, So got myself a Toyota Harrier, STA (I know not the most reliable) report came back an A, despite it is already 2.5 years old and have 55k km on it. Apart from the easily fixed tinted windows, STA remarked "catalytic converter cut and welded". Dealer agreed to fix original back. Upon collection of car, which workshop should I go and what is most imminent to check? Thanks for your help..
  3. The current Toyota Harrier may still be fairly new to the Malaysian market (unless you count the myriad of grey imports that existed before UMW Toyota Motor’s offering), but the truth is third-generation SUV has been around since 2013 and in need of a replacement. Well, it looks like the forth-gen model is coming soon, and a promotional video has just surfaced on social media. It shows a car that draws much of its profile a fair bit of inspiration from the outgoing model, but with a couple of touches of its own. The characteristic blanked-off upper grille and slim headlights remain, but the latter now sport new LED daytime running lights with dual branches, much like the latest Avalon sedan. The lower grille is also much larger, reaching towards the upper grille and only separated by a full-width chrome strip. Along the side, the shoulder line sweeps upwards between the strong front and rear haunches, while the D-pillars have been made slightly narrower. But it’s the rear that’s the biggest departure – the full-width tail lights have been reduced to slits which, together with what appears to be a reverse-rake tail, gives the car more than a hint of the Jaguar F-Pace0 about it. According to Japanese automotive portal Best Car, the new Harrier, set to make its debut on June 17, will ride on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that underpins most of Toyota’s latest models – specifically the K variant (GA-K) that the Camry, RAV4 and aforementioned Avalon are also based on. It will reportedly be significantly larger than before, in part to accommodate an optional third row of seats. New features include an electrochromic sunroof that can be dimmed (eliminating the need for blinds) as well as a dash cam integrated in the rear-view mirror. As for powertrains, expect the Harrier to come with an M20A 2.0 litre direct-injected Dynamic Force engine that makes 172 PS and 203 Nm of torque in the RAV4. There will also likely be a hybrid model that pairs a 2.5 litre version of that engine to a pair of electric motors, delivering a total of 211 PS in the Camry Hybrid. The 8AR-FTS 2.0 litre turbo mill, introduced in the facelifted third-get model (which we get), will apparently be dropped. source: https://paultan.org/2020/04/07/2021-toyota-harrier-fourth-generation-model-leaked/
  4. "It was my car, my friend drove. All I can say he panicked when the bike cut, and the lorry got close. RIP my car." The above was the background information provided along with the following user-submitted video: IMG_7234.MP4 What Happened? It was just another day travelling on the road until the black car in the video turned on its left signal indicator. Moments after signalling, the car veers to the right and sideswipes against the concrete barrier to the right. When panic set in, the driver immediately swerved to the left without checking for traffic. As a result, the black car unintentionally performs a pit manoeuvre on a passing Toyota Harrier. The SUV immediately lost control and collided head-first into the same concrete barrier that the black car sideswiped earlier. Meanwhile, the black car crashed head-first into the concrete barrier similar to the Harrier. According to the user that submitted the video, the blunder caused by his friend was due to vehicles that passed by him too closely. Hmmm...seems like a convenient excuse, doesn't it? And even if it is, isn't his friend's reaction a tad too slow? As the local saying goes, "if you can't swim, don't say your swimming trunks are too big". Likewise, if you can't drive, then don't - Drivers like that are better off taking public transport for the sake of other motorists. Netizens' Comments LOL the driver's brain need to buffer? Haiz....playing the blame game. Not sure who the car owner and driver trying to smoke🤨 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 6. Hi guys, I have been facing transmission problem with my 2008 Toyota Harrier 2.4A Whenever I shift the auto gear to "D", the car will take 1 to 3 mins to engage into the gear. During the wait, the car is as though it is in "Neutral" gear. I do not face any problem with the "R" gear. The "D" shift responds much better after a 20mins drive (when i reach my destination). This is very annoying as sometimes I have to wait about 3 minutes before moving off from carpark. It also poses a danger when i'm doing a 3 point turn and the car stucks in the middle of the road until the "D" gear decides to engage after 2 to 3 mins. I have checked the auto gear fluid and it is at the optimum level. Gear fluid colour is also in a clear red colour. Anyone here knows what is wrong with the auto gear? Where can I bring it for a repair and how much would it approx. cost?
  7. I'm wondering if there is a way to change the language display for a parallel import Toyota harrier from Japanese to English?
  8. Hi all, I am interested to buy a Toyota Harrier, any owner out there to give valuable comments? And any good PI to recommend? Thanks
  9. Which one is a good buy ? Both about the same price and Harrier higher OMV and different about few thousands in OMV, X-trail offer free 2 years servicing and 5 years warranty and PI consider no warranty . AD VS PI ! 2WD VS 4WD !
  10. Hi, Thinking of getting either model. Any bros here can share your fuel consumption of both models? Any problems facing both models? Advise is welcome! Thanks.
  11. Hi all, i'm thinking of buying a new Navara NP300 pickup truck (http://www.nissan.com.sg/vehicles/np300%20navara/index.cfm) but facing some issue due to it being too heavy and large. Firstly, season parking for open air carpark weight limit is 1800kg max. But they will still allow it if its below 2000kg but will charge you a fee of 185$ instead of 65$ then after that they would need to know if the pick up truck is able to fit into a lot. i believe they say it's max length would be 5 meter. Currently the Navara Curb weight is 1860kg Length is 5255mm I'm wondering any of you own a pickup truck that is about that length and yet still able to buy the season parking or have any advice for me? If all options are gone for that pick up truck, i'm looking at 2 models of SUV in the current market. Hyundai Tucson 2015/2016 (http://www.hyundai.com/sg/en/UpcomingVehicles/Tucson/index.html) Or Toyota Harrier (i think latest model is 2014 or 15) (http://harrier.sg) Which would be a better options of SUV and why? Found reviews of tucson but can't find much reviews on the harrier. ps; most likely after buying any of this 3, i would love to LIFT its sup higher and change its wheel thicker and bigger (popping out of its side kind). saw some people mod it and it looks awesome! Not sure where can i mod it thou. lol Thanks all!
  12. Im surprised no one talking about it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq-H0zG8hJk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkts_dOOdIo Looks really neat! But only available via PI :( http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11474 Definitely going to be my next SUV!
