Poper 2nd Gear November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 Just did my 10K servicing and used Redline 5W30.. But somehow, car feel more sluggish leh and noisy.. I hope it's just pure psycho Is there any "run-in" period for new engine oil? 1 or 2 day for the oil to get "season"? Anyway, the redline 5W30 I'm using is attached. I hope I bought the right one.. Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 next time u can try motul.. me and alot of vogsters using motul now.. really feel the power.. though its non double ester based... its 100% synthetic though...
Genie47 1st Gear November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 Motul 300V pocket bleed profusely.
Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 yah.. but $140 servicing package... seems worth it.. but my lousy ride dun need double ester... normal fully synthetic from motul is good enough... $40 cheaper for servicing... Genie, any oil gurus from MCF did a UOA for Motul H-Tech 100 engine oil? coz for me, a noob, the H-Tech 100 from Motul is like already very good.... no point pouring premium in my 1.5car... think 300V meant more for turbocharged engines and larger CC cars, like 1.8 and above.. Genie47 1st Gear November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 Check BITOG. Ken4 did UOA on 300V 0W20 on his Camry.
Garunguni Neutral Newbie November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 (edited) Weixiang_06 is refering to UOA on H-TECH 100... Edited November 18, 2006 by Garunguni
Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 (edited) okie... but then the oil i am using is a new blend from motul... non double ester... its H-Tech 100 Plus 5w30, fully synthetic, SM grade.... its so new, that even singapore, and asia pacific webbie for Motul dun carry it.. only found it in Jap Motul pages... here is the page... translated from japanese.. so the wordings will be weird... http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...hl%3Den%26lr%3D Edited November 18, 2006 by Weixiang_06
Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 (edited) slight corrections its H-Tech 100 Plus... a better version of H-Tech 100, from motul.... but obviously not the premium like 300V Edited November 18, 2006 by Weixiang_06
Genie47 1st Gear November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 So far BITOG user have tried E-Tech and Excess but not H-Tech.
Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 this is exactly the oil which i recently poured into my engine... its from Huat Lee Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 5w30, 100% synthetic. SM Grade... found this on a korean website, the following is the result of its translations.. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...6lr%3D%26sa%3DG
Weixiang_06 Clutched November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 think its too new.. mmz.. can't find it in singapore and asia pacific motul pages, except for japan's one... maybe next time everyone could keep this in mind.. so far, my engine has run for 3k on this oil.. seems very smooth to me... and quiet but we know this is subjective.. ↡ Advertisement
