What is 'HANDLING'?

Always heard people talk about 'handling', e.g sunny has better handling than altis, Conti car has better handling than Japanese car etc, seems the 'handling' is a factor to evaluate a car performance, but how to define the term of 'handling'

Handling, to me, is kind of subjective. There's no clear rules or specs like performance one can judge from the horsepower or torque figures. If you watch Top Gear, Lotus engineer actually built a track for Top Gear to test out a car's handling. Jeremy and his company will judge the car from the way the car handle the corners, like understeer, oversteer... etc etc..
