Ixat 1st Gear December 9, 2006 Share December 9, 2006 Hi bros, Who goes to Hawk Tayar in JB for servicing? What do you all usually do? Thinking of getting alignment and MTF change done. Notice there are several HTs around. They are like the AutoServe in Shell right? Any recommended one? Please provide directions too.... Cheers! ↡ Advertisement
Fangface Clutched December 13, 2006 Share December 13, 2006 Ocassionally frequent them. did my alignment for rm63 the last time. they did front and rear alignment and balancing off-wheel. one thing i dislike is the mechs there usually ask u want to change this or that, eg change gear oil or top up brake fluid which i don't need. Just say no and they are not persistant. you can sign up for the genting world card for rm5 there and collect points. now i frequent the shell autoserv, 3-4 junctions before xtra if your from causeway. workshop cleaner and more organised. Ixat 1st Gear December 15, 2006 Author Share December 15, 2006 The shell station issit the only one , and its situated just before you get onto the U-turn flyover and head back to SG? Cheers
Fangface Clutched December 16, 2006 Share December 16, 2006 Thats not the one. that one only has car wash facilities. The one im refering to is a Shell Autoserv workshop. Its along Jalan Tebrau, the same road that leads to Carrefour if you enter from causeway. Just keep a look out for a large blue building with the words Shell Autoserv on your left. and its not a petrol station, just a large workshop. Hope it helps. Oldnewcar Neutral Newbie January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 Yes they also do changing of parts. Give them a call and ask for a quote. I have been there twice for 1) brake problem 2) overheating problem and they have solved it for me. So I am quite satisfied with their service. Actually there are quite a number of workshops in the area. But hark tayar is recommended by my frens so that is why i go there. If other place scared that I will get . Anyway I see singapore cars coming in for service every time i have been there so i guess they are doing well and their customers are satisfied. Simpleman 1st Gear January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 HAWK TAYAR is a chain of workshops. Was told there are quite a few in Johor alone. Other branches all over the Peninsular. Some of the mechs may not be very knowledgable, especially with Conti marques. They do as told and do not make any recomendation, even when asked. The simple answer is always, if you want can install - referring to spark plugs, oils, etc. They do take pride in whatever they do. Once I during change of oil filter, the unit I brought in was of the incorrect model. The mech took the trouble to clean up the old filter with kerosene, water, blow dry, then soak in Mobil One, blow dry again, then re-oil before re-installing. All these extra work at NO additional labour charge. The mech took it upon himself to do it without the customer asking.
Gimmegimmes Neutral Newbie January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 I'm not too sure what to look out for should I go for my 40k servicing, so here I would like to know what to look out for, or if they do have a 40k servicing package? ↡ Advertisement
