Saw this SAE40 at a petrol station. Does anyone use this kind of engine oil nowadays? What are the pros and cons compared to say a 10W40? It's mineral oil though.

Any oil is suitable for our climate, since we don't experience cold temperatures.

Just tt straight weight oil will be mighty thick during a cold start. I don't recommend it unless you drive like a cabby - Start once in the morn, cover 500km, idle at breakfast, lunch time, dinner time, supper time and cut ignition in the wee hours of the morn. Then within hours start again . . . [sweatdrop]

hahaha you get the drift.

ah agree with ur points... but u meant cab drivers dont care abt the FE ( which translate to higher running costs) I doubt so imho. Coz my uncle drives a cab, he is feeling lots of pressure from the cab rental and rising diesel. He did told me abt some of his fellow cab drivers go Msia pump sweatdrop.gif

perhaps many cabbies dont know much abt FE that I'll agree. think for my unc case he rather carry more passengers rather than moderating his right foot smile.gif
