Saab 9-1: Swedes want a slice of Audi A3 market

Saab has its eyes set on a new compact hatch to take on the likes of the BMW 1-Series and Audi A3. Swedish car magazine Teknikens Varld took on the assignment of

Their 95 against 5 series, 93 against 3 series, are they even close in that fight?

Yup. I think GM's got it wrong for this one too.

I am never a supporter of GM's brand/model/engine "ba5tardization".

 

Take one Subaru from Japan and modify it into a SAAB.

Or worse, take a whole Daewoo car lock-stock-and-barrel and just rebadge it into a Chervolet.

 

And GM engines are never the greatest built.

Like the Alfa JTS (GM-sourced), compared with the venerable (replaced) Alfa Twin Spark V6 engine. Worlds apart IMHO. Its not just about power and torque curves.
