Pisces69 6th Gear March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 Cos of the steeply sloping windscreen, the mirrors r placed a little back from it & the small window is for u to see the corners & kerb when u turning or parking. It's just to help u see better when u driving. Just like some trucks got a big glass "window" on the door. It's so u can see the side kerb when turning or parking. Apollo 1st Gear March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 i think most regulators require manufacturer to provide for a certain amt of vision angles fr the driver side. the front triangle is very useful if u wanna turn tight corner to avoid hitting kerbs on ur right
Mandy83 Neutral Newbie March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 Its there to reduce the blind spot created by the A-pillar, so theres less chance you 'can't see' an oncoming car, motorcycle, pedestrain etc when turning out from a junction. Modern cars with super strong passenger cell means thicker A-pillars.

Watwheels Supersonic March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 The triangular glass is removable so that u can mount machine guns or even missiles to shoot at jay-walkers, road hoggers, cyclists, taxis, speeding vans/lorrys on lane 1 and slow motorcyclists. Route88 2nd Gear March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 No,last time no air con can just open the triangular mirror to let in air into the car cabin. But since today air con is common, they dunno what to do with tat small triangular mirror,so they sealed it

Mikeyeo Clutched March 22, 2007 Share March 22, 2007 (edited) noticed most hatchback, MPV and Civic FD, City and Latio etc, there is a triangle glass in front of both side mirrors as attached picJust curious The reason that manufacturers provide these triangular glass especially for vehicles with a steeper sloping front screen unlike the standard saloon is to enable the front doors window glass to slide into the door panel. It follows the same principle as the rear doors. Edited March 22, 2007 by Mikeyeo
