1. Anyone currently driving a Mazda 5 or have tested this car before?

2. Wanted to know how it stacks against Honda Stream, Pinic and Zaifira in term of pricing, performance, comfort, fuel consumption and reliability?

Thank you.

Regards,

I think Mazda 5 is still a very good looking car.

The sliding door is very useful.

But among Stream, Picnic and Mazda 5, I think Stream is most fun to drive.

Picnic - Rear aircon [thumbsup]

- Design [thumbsdown] too 'ah pek' (no offence), over priced

Stream - Good looking, good handling, good FC, good legroom for 3rd row

- No rear aircon

Madza 5 - Good looking, Sliding door, radio control on steering

- Legroom for 3rd row cramped, no rear aircon

Zaifira - no comments, distributor offering 3 years/ 60000km free scheduled servicing now

Why not consider the Grand Scenic as well? It is not bad, in terms of handling and safety but again no rear aircon.

Maz5

=======

Pros

- Sliding side passenger doors

- Made in Japan

- Design is decent/still current

- Able to run on 92 octane fuel (something worth to consider with today's rising fuel costs)

Cons

- AutoTrans only 4 gears

- A/C is maunal i.e. 1/2/3/4

- No rear A/C vents

- Boot space small

- Engine Capacity - 2.0l (as compared to Stream/Wish)

- Fuel Consumption - 7-8km/L

Picnic

=======

Pro

- Toyota brand (some swear by this.. ) i.e. reliable?

- Rear A/C vents

Cons

- Old design (-10)

- Fuel Consumption 6-7km/l

- Boring interior and accessories

- Not a driver car

Stream

=======

Depending on if you buy from KM or PI

Pro

- It's a Honda [:)]

- Latest mid-size MPV

- new 1.8L engine (Road tax friendly)

- good design

- driver car

- expected fuel consumption (10-11km/l)

Cons

- KM does not offer RSZ model

- Buying from PI is not for the faint hearted

Zaf

====

Can't say much about this car.. except that it's the only one that is not from Japan. If you are into "conti" cars, then can consider this as well.

Others

=======

Can also consider the new Picaso from Cit. The Scenic from Renault is also not bad....Oh.. and what about the Ford S-Max.. that's one bad-axx car.

btw - i considered all of the above and ended up with a Ody.
