Stainless steel air filter cleanliness

hi to any one using stainless steel filters.. eg hurrican , simota, etc.

 

my ride is lower. then using a drop-in stainless steel filter.

with CAI to the bottom facing front beside the radiator, slightly forward.

 

so problem is before the filter i then to get a bit sand in filter box.

after the filter its look clean but use ur hand to wipe. its with v fine sandy feel...

with tissue can see dirt.

 

when using stock paper theres non....

 

been told when place CAI low. will get this problem. is it true?

 

should i relocate higher? but higher no hole to draw cold air...

defead the pupose rite?unless higher then facing down?

The problem is obviously on the type of filter u'r using.

 

Do u see the big lobangs on your s/s filter? Compare it with your stock filter if u cannot see. [laugh]

 

No matter where u place your CAI the problem will still be there.

 

U can DIY and superglue a piece of sponge to your s/s filter as seen on your stock. But why bother? Just use back the stock filter. [laugh]

use cotton type..better than stock (which is made mostly from paper)...

i dont think SS type can filter out the dirt that effectively as cotton.

i think better change back to the original top air snorkel.

 

cos last time... using tat not so much of dirt after.

nearer to floor got more problem , hai....

test see how lor
