there was a ranking done by an F1 magazine some time back and Senna was rated fastest followed by M Schu.

think depends on how one defines "fast" ... but am skeptical that Kimi is faster than M Schu and Senna.

is the internal news among f1 teams...

there are maclaren staffs who worked with senna b4, n work with kimi also... they claimed that never c ppl can drive the f1 car so fast.. as everyone knw kimi can performs f1 car more than 100%...

ferrari technicians also saying he is faster than schumi... he requested over-steer until unreasonable... no one able to control f1 car like this....

bad thing is he lacking of technical knowledge which alonso, schumi, senna hav...

i try to find out the article....

Not a fair comparison to Senna cos F1 technology changes drastically. The current batch of drivers are lucky to hv so much driver's aid like Traction Control / Suspension Setting on board etc.

Its like me driving a 1980s car to your 2000s car. I will lose you half way through the first corner already. So such comparison is too hard to sustain.

u know its very easy to just say....

i also can say i am the fastest.

Schumacher is so fast until they have to change the points system to disadvantage him

now that is FAST

first, u need to understand fastest <> champion...

champion needs combination of many factors, car reliability, fast, tyre, fighting spirit, technical knowledge, luck...... n most important - faster car!

schumi is the champion bcos he owns abt all the factors.... bt kimi only has one which is fast (of cos with a competitive car)....

P/S: we are talking who is the fastest driver....

Using Monza as the benchmark and racing techniques, I would say Montoya is the fastest driver during his peak performance in the Williams.

what is the definition of fastest?

1) fastest in 1 lap

2) fastest avg speed

3) fastest at xxx track

4) fastest in a single F1 season.

5) etc

so which fastest are they referring to?

Hmm... like the rest of the guys said, really depending on how do you define FAST. Michael may not be fastest all the time because he is good in technical knowledge, good in finding balance between driving to the edge engine and at the same time, preserve the engine. There were comments on Kimi in McLaren team, he always pushed to the car to the limit without taking care of the engine, thus, you saw he blew his Merc so many times. Even when he jumped over to Ferrari, I still remember what Merc Chief Engineer had to comment: Ferrari needs to build a tank for Kimi.sweatdrop.gif
