Dirtrider_ak Neutral Newbie December 29, 2007 Share December 29, 2007 (edited) why dun u let it become more worst first .. then easier to pin point .... but basics like water and oil level must do ... the rest can consider wait and see .... when fuel pump fails you can crank your engine but it will not start .... so if it fails while driving the engine will just stall and will not restart. Let it become worst easier to eleminate. Now all guess work ... by the way got engine check light come on or not ? Yeobh 4th Gear December 30, 2007 Share December 30, 2007 (edited) The cause may be due to yr mech pulling the spark plug cables out without using a proper pulling plier, one or more of the cables carbon conductor may have suffer internal fracture resulting in intermittent high resistance to current flow. When the cable is hot the fracture just simply narrow or close up and the resistant is reduced. Just ask the mechanic to use a multi digital meter to check the cable resistance. Compare all the cables , they should not vary more than 10% in reading. Edited December 30, 2007 by Yeobh
Yc86 Clutched December 30, 2007 Share December 30, 2007 (edited) Fuel pump is the pump in ur tank that supplies the pressure to your fuel reg/injectors.. if that is choking, the injectors wont be getting the pressured fuel and the car could stutter.. Have to drop tank to replace fuel pump if i'm nt wrong. Edited December 30, 2007 by Yc86
Yc86 Clutched December 30, 2007 Share December 30, 2007 Did u use back the plugs of the same 'heat' rating? is the problem a sudden thing or has been all along your 3k km..? could be a ign timing issue.. any other mods or changes to ur car? if not can try resetting the ecu by pulling out the ground frm the batt.. Apollo 1st Gear December 30, 2007 Share December 30, 2007 how old is ur ride anyway? fuel pump got 2 type, submersible or inline. submersible comes with the fuel filter. difficult to replace? let's say u need a mech to do it for u. if old ride, then i see no harm to replace it anyway. ---------- cheaPest is to check the distributor cable. did u spray water into the engine bay without protecting the distributor, it might kena water damage. next cheapest is to replace the intake air filter. check.. did u install bonnet protector? check the area near to the intake air, if the protector collapse down, it may restrict air. also plug in a voltage meter into the cigge and monitor. if off the aircon, and car dun shake, then is confirm aircon compressor got problem. otherwise... if car steering vibrating not moving, and open bonnet, entire engine block is shaking, then engine mounting up lorry, need to replace. how much? mounting tat r pads only chirp, mounting that hv hydraulic more expensive. ($80 vs $250) -------- if TB is electronic control one, the motor may up lorry. expensive to replace (ard $800 for lancers)
