If over fill engine oil.. is there a way to drain some of it out?

if aircon compressor is becoming weak? is replacing with a new one the only option?

overfill can damage piston.

drain out by loosening the nut fr below lor. wait until engine cool down. tray in position. hv to steady on the hand. wear a glove in case the oil is too hot for u.

aircompressor - depends lah. replace with recon one also can. or else u goto buy one urself and they charge labor also can.

Is the oil just slightly over the mark? If so just leave it lah.

If very much over, then u have to drain a little by the drain plug below but quite messy. If u can get the suction machine for changing ATF or engine oil, use it to remove the extra oil tru the dipstick hole.

How do u mean AC compressor getting weak? Is it not cold? Just try to top-up the gas 1st & use & see how. If there is a serious leak of gas, then u need to send to a good & reliable AC specialist to get it checked & repaired.

a) The safest way is to use a oil suction gun. Draw th eexcess oil via the oil dip stick opening. Slightly over the "F" mark is not critical and will not damage yr engine pistons.

b) "aircon compressor is becoming weak" - do you mean - poor cooling, compressor clutch disenageg from time to time or the compressor is running slow and noisy.

driving starlet..

i think i didn't explain clear enough..

the compressor only able to cool the air when i on higher rev... 2500rpm or more range..

under idling... it is not able to make the air cold... only slightly cool.

take the easier route-top up wif gas 1st,tis feels like insufficient gas.4get abt air con man telling u tis spoilt tat spoilt.I had tis problem for 1 yr after i went to river...w to do a compressor oil chg wif a aid of e machine. Was later told fancoil mayb leaking n compressor no gd blar blar.....lucky found one air con man told me juz top up gas n c how izit 1st. Problem solved n damage is $25 [flowerface]

aircon

cud b ur radiator fan problem. some mechanic will help u by changing the radiator fan to continuously operate and bypass the thermostat.

Beware a lot of air con shop like to con ppl coz toping up gas for $20-30 is not profitable moreover a lot of cars are new air con seldom give problems. So once there are "carrots" around they will make the best out of it.

But there is no harm going around the shops ask for advice and hear different stories such as:

1)Fan coil dirty need servicing

2) Compressor not working well

I think if you can get some shops who are willing to top up yr gas it should work well.

Look at the sight glass on the dryer 1st

me oni top up once n e problem was solved.Lucky me e system did not leak.b4 tat checked fan n was in gd workin condition. So popoly is due to the machine tat chge e comp oil, tat also needed 2 drain out my freon gas then was puup back aft oil chge was done.mayb a case of taking out w/o putting back e same amt of freon gas,cos b4 tat my air con was working ok.who tell me itchy backside [smallcry]

eh.. leak or not i not sure..

but the weak compressor i describe is real...

i did not replace anything, just top up gas.. the air got cold... but the problem is just as describe.. purely on weak compressor. [:)]

mebbe this fr car bilbles will help

So you topped up the engine when it was warm after getting a faulty dipstick reading, or you put too much oil in when you changed it yourself. What's the worst that could happen? Well the problem with this is that the next time the engine is run, the windage in the crankcase and other pressures generated by the oil pump, etc. place a great strain on the seal on the rear main bearing.

Eventually, often much sooner than the ordinary man in the street might expect, the rear main bearing seal ruptures, and the engine becomes a 'leaker'. If you've got a manual gearbox, this means one thing: this oil goes right onto the flywheel and the face of the clutch disc. A lubricated clutch is A Bad Thing. If this still goes unnoticed, the front seal is the next to go, and the engine then becomes a 'gusher' (or to be more colourful, it starts pissing oil all over the place). As well as smothering the clutch with oil from the rear, the oil now coming from the front leak will be neatly distributed about the engine bay as it hits the front pulley - often propelling it out as far as the brake discs. At the same time as this Hollywood disaster movie is unfolding outside the engine, things aren't working out any better on the inside. As you can see from the diagram, the correct oil level is really close to the rotating crank. Overfilling will mean the crank dips into the oil and churns it into a froth. Froth is good on certain types of coffee but not good in an engine. The mixture of aerated oil will be forced into the bearings and in case you didn't know, air is not a lubricant. Typically this means that bearing damage will follow quite rapidly, especially if you are driving on a motorway. You'll know bearing damage when you get it. The engine smells like a garage mechanic cooking over an open flame and the noise coming from the engine is the sort of thing you'd normally hear in vaudeville plays when a piano is pushed down a flight of stairs. As if that all wasn't bad enough, the excess oil gets thrown up into the piston bores where the piston rings have a hard time coping with the excess oil and pressure. It gets into the combustion chamber and some of it will get out into the exhaust system unburned resulting in a nice patina of oil all over the platinum surfaces of your catalytic converter. This renders it utterly useless for good.

the gas may get weaker over time due to leakage as well as chokage of the aircon filter, and the condensing inside the car.

compressor in general do not get weaker, becos most of the parts r mechanical. it may get worn off faster if it needs to work harder, longer and damage by impurities which passes thru the aircon filter and gets into the system.

Last time the older cars have a AC system where the AC wil automatically cut-off when the car is idling. Rev it a bit & the AC will kick in. If yours is that type, then it's normal.

If it's the newer type where the AC wil still run when at idle, then maybe u just need to top-up the gas 1st & see how. Only if your ac compressor is noisy when it kicks in, then cud b it's coming to it end of life but still I had ac compressor noisy & it lasted me a couple of years.

Don't do this as it wil shorten the life of the fan. Also your car wil take a very long time to warm up & reach it optimum operating temp. On cold or rainy nights, the engine wil b too cold & sluggish without much power.
