Bearbear1494 Clutched January 19, 2008 Share January 19, 2008 That website is mainly the author trying to prove using lab equipment that woofer orientation DOES make a difference. The text below all the charts is to disprove another individual's adamant point of view that sub orientation DOES NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER. Whether the charts are real or doctored, guess nobody really knows. But in my own experience, having the sub face the rear of the car does increase the bass output perceived from within the cabin. Especially for ported enclosures, the rumbling effect of frequencies around 100Hz is particularly amplified. End of the day, guess it's best for yourself to experiment which orientation works best. Different cars have different acoustic characteristics, different kind of subs & enclosures have a different response curve. So in reality, there's no "one-size-fits-all" kinda deal. Apollo 1st Gear January 19, 2008 Author Share January 19, 2008 icic... i was wondering if it does matter. becos bass tubes is not facing those direction though.
Bluemice 2nd Gear January 19, 2008 Share January 19, 2008 i do get slight diff when i place it either on the LEFT or RIGHT side of boot. its orientation does make a diff. However, these diff are not large and significant, nothing that cant be compensated by the HU / proc settings. mice
Rollagt 5th Gear January 19, 2008 Share January 19, 2008 Hmm..for me I place it on the centre of the boot with the woofer face looking at me when I open the boot. Somehow the driver seat enjoy more bass than the passenger side. Perhaps I shd shift it to left then after some time right and compare the difference. Nickgoh250 Neutral Newbie January 19, 2008 Share January 19, 2008 placing on the left behind the passenger side sounds more solid to the driver but not really for the passenger so cant have the best for both worlds.
