马英九 or 谢长廷?

My take: 马英九.

What is your choice, why?

Can't add in a poll after thread submission.

MCF Moderator, can you please help to insert a poll? Many thanks!

Taiwanese parliament had been rather chaotic all these while.

MPs using high-heels to throw at each other. Try that in Singapore. [sly]

At least Mr Ma is well-cultured.

Xie Chang Ting reminds me of Chen Shui Bian.

I still can't figure out how did he manage to survive until today. Maybe that is what politics is all about. [laugh]

MIW seems beri keen to support the Opposition party, the corruption infested, gangster-backed KMT.

马英九 is proven as guud as mr softie in 7-11. rolleyes.gif

well cultured in wat sense? the pple in taipei knew he does very little for them, there as a mayor. he can't hold his liquor well enuff (got tipsy after 1 cup) and can't speak dialects properly enuff (reminds me of that 5 minutes mandarin speech by.... ahem). bottomline, he dun even hv the characteristics of a taiwanese. but in any case, i find most of them r rogue esp gen-X. so i cannot say like these r abt the friendlest pple in the planet.

singaporeans r definitely more cultured then these bums.

This is a 1-sided contest

its 马英九

Taiwanese are betting only on how much the lead will be, 10% all the way to 40%

Glad there are so many of such discussion. ... at least it shown that some SGporean still have interest of politcal issue. ..thought we nearly lost hope.

Hope one fine day in Singapore there are choices given to us.... and we can a least talk about Mr A or Mr B or Mr. C. We have MR. L for too much decades... [lipsrsealed]

Singapore pple really lag behind our counterparts in Taiwan, Malaysia and even the US...

once the ruling party start to falter... see how the votes swing... its a very effective wakeup call... KMT has theirs way back in 2000, now revertised and come back strongly... BN just had their wakeup call... see how they do from now... US too...

Raising ERP, transportation, utilities and wat have you... dun complain coz we voted for it... (Govt makes tonnes of money out of us... they just reported surplus(again)budget for 2007)

Our local flavors:

1. Most of our seats here are walkovers/uncontested.

2. Some of the opposition candidates here simply CMI. Not that we don't want to vote them into office.

3. Goal post and boundaries kept on shifting.

Why no poll? [laugh]

My guess is Mr. Ma.

At 6.30pm, Mr Ma is leading in vote count.
