Did a search for car below 30K, auto and direct owner sale in sgcarmart.

Found a Getz 1.4A, Feb 2005. Asking $28,800.

Questions are:

1. Is Getz a reliable car to own?

2. Is fuel consumption good?

3. Who are the expert workshop for Getz? Or will I be better off going back to AD?

4. What to look out for in a 3-year old Getz?

In the same price range, there are a lot of Kia Picanto, around or slightly newer.

I am thinking of getting a small car for my wife, must be auto and small so that it is easy to park. She will use it for errands and driving around the neighbourhood, so, nothing fancy. Stock car will be preferred actually.

Neutral Newbie

u sure is early 2005?

the facelift version comes in earliest in late 2005 or early 2006.

1.4A belongs to facelift version.

in early 2005, only available 1.3A, 1.6A and 1.6M. That's it.

Reliability, my ex-1.6M never give me a single problem. The ride

was with me for 3 years +. from my experience, very reliable.

There's one authorised komoco workshop in Yishun Industrial park,

named Worthy, look for AH Meng.

Just look out for if there's the getz was TC before or heavily modded. I wonder

if you are allow to get permission from your dealer if able to let the above mentioned

workshop for checking the necessary.

Thanks. In this case sounded like a Picanto would suits my purpose better. Personally I prefer the look of Getz. Oh well, for under 30K and to attain cheap running costs, I supposed one cannot ask for too much.

Up the budget by a few K and you can get yourself a Rio auto(hatch or sedan)that's 2006 or 2007, not that big a car either....

For a small car, the FC is surprising not good. Abt 12km/ltr nia.

Pick-up damn poor. If sit 4 adults can hear the engine buffing like hell....like me running 2.4 km like that.(i always fail IPPT one [laugh] ).

budget korean auto trans is quite [thumbsdown]

drove my fren's pica and another fren's chevy aveo hatch.. both lack power even though they shd be more powerful than my already underpowered ride

floor the throttle, gearbox will kickdown n engine will rev, but the progress is still slow [lipsrsealed]

that can't be helpful for FC [shakehead]

jap makes auto trans still decent [nod]

not sure abt the mid-range to high end koreans like cerato, avante and above though. my guess is that they shd be ok but haven't personally tried them yet.

KNS smash.gif its only 1.3A when did u give me the extra 0.1cc laugh.gif

For a small car running on AT, i would say the FC is not too bad at 12km/l

wink.gif Of course not mention the Jazz which is way better.
