Kyomed Neutral Newbie April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 i beg to differ. wad steel braided u changed to? when i was on an auto car and i changed to steel braided for jus the front brakes, the effect was very significant and pronounced; when i tried to brake initially w normal hoses very spongy, had to shift to neutrl for auto to counter sponginess.with the steel braideds i could leave the gear in D and brake feels better than previously having to put to N. steel braids are very good investments.ur stock ones are rubber and will expand when heating, ie during driving. a few secs may jus save ur car, even ur life
Rb26dett Clutched April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 there will definately be difference but it varies from cars to cars.i once had upgraded to goodridge steel braided hose and the improvement caters more to brake feel and to counter the spongy feeling.in order to overall improve braking performance ,brake feel modulation i would recommend changing of steel braided hose, master brake cylinders , rotors/pads and install a brake stopper to minimize flex. Jemjem 1st Gear April 25, 2008 Author Share April 25, 2008 Hi Ic. I am not sure of the brand but for my ride, have to get the customised one. read abt the possibility of problems at the end joints area for steel braided hoses. Kyomed Neutral Newbie April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 bro u noe gd stuff sia, usin goodridge hoses:200 a pair wor i agree on the enlarging of brake master cylinder, slotted & x-driled rotors so faster heat dissapation and high temp pads; increase in hp shud always be accompanied by enhanced braking capabilities. Beyond_26 Neutral Newbie April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 Goodridge is good I use it last time when I was riding bike.
Bearbear1494 Clutched April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 I'm using the cheaper Prosports hoses. Think it's steel overlay rather than actually steel braided. But in combination with cross-drilled & slotted discs, the braking feel is much improved over the stock spongy feeling. Actual stopping distance varies with the tire & road conditions, but overall there seems to be a slight improvement. Better brake pads may improve things further. Kyomed Neutral Newbie April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 hence..if u driving auto car and u tink ur brakes feel spongy.. change to gd steel braids and check ur brake fluid if gt spare cash gt better brake pads during servicing;bendix ultimate is gd if u dun mind brake dust

Silhoutte Clutched April 26, 2008 Share April 26, 2008 These hoses are actually hydraulic hoses which are steel braided but the inner tube is either made of rubber or teflon material, designed to take temperatures from ambient temp to max of 120 Deg C. Most hardware shops, especially selling hydraulic items are able to sell u this kind of hose at an affordable price. Cheers.
Jemjem 1st Gear April 27, 2008 Author Share April 27, 2008 Hi bro Does that means these hoses can be used as brake hoses?? jemjem

Silhoutte Clutched April 28, 2008 Share April 28, 2008 Yeah I suppose so, think about it, these hoses are used in ship braking systems and hydraulic lift systems with the ability of maintaining pressures of 300 Bar (4350 PSI) and above. The most important thing is that the end connections are correct so that the hose can be connected to your braking system, usually via threaded male connections. These hoses can withstand extremely high pressure and aren't very expensive to boot. This is just my 2 cents. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement
