I saw them advertise recently & I think mentioned it is made in MY.

Well at $20 for 6 bottles, it's quite cheap. [thumbsup]

I went to Thomson Plaza DIY yesterday & saw the Redex price increase to abt $18 for the small bottle. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Too damm expensive for me. I wonder if the autoparts shop in Sin Min has also increased the price by so much???

STP products could be found in almost all the petrol kiosks, NTUC and DIY shops.

But I have not seen Redex in any of these shops near my place (North-West).

Is there any reason why Redex is not so commonly-sold (compared to STP)?

How does Redex compare with STP Fuel system cleaner?

It is very difficult to find Redex in the north-west region.

I have tried DIY shops, NTUC, petrol kiosks, Giant and even Autobacs (at Bukit Batok).

I could only find STP.

That makes me wonder if Redex is a banned item!

Neutral Newbie

Home Fix sells Redex in red colour bottle, cost 10+ per bottle for one-time use only. Thought it's expensive so didnt buy, I want to buy the other type whereby you put some in the tank each time you top up. I wonder is one-time use type is better than the "little bit" each time? Any redex experts here can advise?

I used Redline SI-1. Recently, I took out the spark plugs to examine.

There was a layer of carbon on the "ground" edge at the end near the electrode.

What was surprising was that the layer of carbon used to be hard, but now it is just paste like.

I believe the Redline did something to the carbon, softening it.

I checked all the 4 plugs and they are the same...soft pasty "carbon"

Where did you buy redline?

I can't find Redline and Redex in my region.

Will the $20+ STP fuel system cleaner have the same effect?

I bought my trex but kaiguan also sell.

Now the price is lower than what I bought.unsure.gif

From what I understand, Redline, Techron and some others are amine based. They do a good job of cleaning and dissolving carbon. Amsoil PI also has good review.

Not sure about STP.
