Hi bro, good choice for Hyundai Accent 1.3m [;)]

feedback from my friend, the manual gear sometime a litter bit hard to change but not a big issue (may be just use to it after while),other than that is ok. Don't exspec too much since economic car...

I will looking for 2005 1.3m, instead of 2001 is too old for Hankok car [sweatdrop]

Maybe I was unlucky, but I had a sxxt-load of problems with the Accent when I owned it in 2002. Within 2 years of ownership:

1. The damn car's air-con radiator was spoilt (leak air-con gas and had to be changed entirely).

2. The engine stalled while driving (apparently due to carbon build-up somewhere, had to get the car towed to workshop)

3. And the final straw for me was ... when the belt holding the driver-side window up gave way and that window literally collapsed (into the door slit) with a bang (and that was a Sunday, I had to hunt for a workshop in Eunos to fix it for me!).

Again maybe I was unlucky, but I sold the car away with no hesitation. [thumbsdown]

I'm currently driving a Nov 2005 Accent 1.3m.. so far so good.. no major problems except..

- Door lock actuators a bit kuku.. sometimes dun unlock with alarm.

So far 43k km only done servicing change oil, filter, spark plugs, wipers and recently battery. Hope car will last me for few more years to come.. [:)]

the door lock actuator assembly may be loose or something. just get a mech to open the door panel and tighten it. should be working well in no time.

Luckily no big problem with car lor.. else will curse.. [smash]

To me, the accent was the right choice at that point in time.. The wrong choice was the timing cos COE dropped to 10k in early 2006.. [bigcry]

My own theory of buying almost scrap 2nd hand cars, is to buy Japanese.

More reliable and more time to enjoy the remainng car lifetime.

I would think the price difference is not much between a Kor and Jap cars at 7yrs old range.
