Honestly it looks like a good alternative to the Forester or the Outback. And it may just give the X3 a run for its money; considering the potential consumers are not into the whole "in-line 6" saga.

The sports trim of tiguan 200bhp does the sprint in 8.5 sec. is that considered fast or slow for a compact SUV?

 

The X3 2.5l.... hahhaha most BMW enthusiasts only have bad things to say about that car. cannot run, cannot handle, doesn't look stylish, not capable of off roading, the only thing going for it is the blue and white roundel badge. only badge whores may apply. otherwise you'd better better off with a forester or tiguan... or if you up the ante, a M class Merc in black.... a big black motherfker as opposed to Kim Cattrall's white one in Sex & the City

Had a word with the SE on this car. The Tiguan Sport, basically loaded with many options, are estimated to have an OMV of about 33K. Currently they are running a promo, the car can be had for $119K.

 

At 13K COE for e.g., the gross margin is 30K. Not very good but not bad considering this is a new car just launched.

seen some spyshots on the Audi Q5..looks not bad with the usual Audi front grill.. should be a good contender to this class of SUVs.. but price-wise might be more ex than the volkswagon..

Audi Q5 will probably in 160K to 170K region. Based on all the models Audi has launched in the past 6 to 9 months, their margin is HUGE. I would not go near them. You will feel the pain when you sell your car.

IMHO, I actually think it looks better than the forester. Some more forester uses a 4speed auto which is abit old tech.
