Leepee 1st Gear September 18, 2008 Share September 18, 2008 Anyone knows where to get a gadget for car that can measure 1-100km/hr timings or deceleration timings, and G's value. Something with GPS & built-in accelerometer and a big screen to display the results. I am looking for a stand alone unit. Need not be those tha plug into the car OBD to read aditional data. Anyone knows where in Singapore is selling or which reliable website to order one! Thanks. ↡ Advertisement

Thumbs Neutral Newbie September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 Accelerometer is prone to errors due to pitch. Using a sufficiently accurate GPS system such as the Racelogic Performance Box will be enough. http://www.performancebox.co.uk/ Been using it for some time and quite happy with it. Macrosszero Turbocharged September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 I know that if you have a GPS-enabled Nokia phone you can download RaceChrono. Its accuracy is dependent on your GPS signal. If you have an iPhone, you can download g-tac. It uses the iPhone's onboard accelerometers to measure actual acceleration similar to G-Tech.
Ascendant_motorsport Neutral Newbie September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 (edited) Anyone knows where to get a gadget for car that can measure 1-100km/hr timings or deceleration timings, and G's value. Something with GPS & built-in accelerometer and a big screen to display the results. I am looking for a stand alone unit. Need not be those tha plug into the car OBD to read aditional data. Anyone knows where in Singapore is selling or which reliable website to order one! Thanks. Hi Leepee, Ascendant Motorsport is a local dealer for Racelogic and has both the Performance Box and Drift Box, in stock. The Performance Box is 700 SGD, and the Drift Box is 1000 SGD. Both prices already include shipping and GST. For specification and a simple example of what can be done besides acceleration and deceleration tests, please read.. http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/ascendant-mot...al-circuit.html Don't be put off by perceived complexity of the software. The requirements you list are fulfilled very simply - and if you choose to go beyond those basics to that shown in link above, it doesn't take much more. We can show you how. Once you run through it once yourself, you'll realize how easy it is.
