Swirl removing with Machine Polish....(Pics)

Finally tried machine polishing myself .....Managed to remove swirls with the help from my cousins using Makita 9227C (PO91 & FF106)....

can advise which kind of pads to get?

i am really new to this so would like to learn...

i cant find out the difference in pads on the web...like tuft pad, wool pad, the different coloured pads etc...do i need to get a cutting pad, polishing pad, finishing pad?or is there a universal pad for all?where can i buy the backing plate?
