Kalmath 1st Gear February 2, 2009 Author Share February 2, 2009 Bluetooth Rearview Mirror With 4.5" LCD for Reverse Camera To All Teana Owners: I found a clip-on rear view mirror with Bluetooth for handsfree calling and an embedded 4.5" LCD screen to display the reverse camera sight for $348 inclusive of installation. On top of that, this system includes 4 reverse sensors that will emit the usual audible tones and display the distance on the rear view mirror also! The reverse camera is CCD (superior to CMOS) and vision angle is 150', should be good enough to see the back from end corner to corner. I hope to organise an installation of the above system so as to benefit from the wealth of experience together. Interested, please PM me. Any update on the Integrated GPS, Bluetooth that TC is sourcing for the local company to develop? Last read it cost 1.5k, quite reasonable if the User Interface is intuitive and sound quality is good. ↡ Advertisement
Admin Clutched February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 Yes I am interested in the reverse camera option for the Teana. Would like to know if there are any updates on it as well. Best if TC can offer it soon, if not may have to go for what bro Heng is offering.

Heng 1st Gear February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 Yes I am interested in the reverse camera option for the Teana. Would like to know if there are any updates on it as well. Best if TC can offer it soon, if not may have to go for what bro Heng is offering. I saw TC's solution incorporating reverse camera, bluetooth, DVD player with Ipod interface in glove compartment, Hard disk, GPS and touchscreen to replace the stock screen incorporating all the functions including the stock screen functions. Quite good and neat for $1.5k. But I personally have some reservations about TC's solution. It will require extensive stripping and re-assembly to fit all those features mentioned. The risk is some jiggling sound in your dashboard after that, and very annoying in our quiet and comfortable Teanas. Also, speaking from experience in owning a 2007 Sylphy (for wife) and a Garmin 255w, if you really want a GPS, go for the Garmin. Though not integrated (I also regret), it's performance and ease of use is far superior. That's why I'm looking at the simpler solution proposed earlier and really it's good enough for us. You can check it out at: http://www.zmc.com.sg/product.php?catID=6&...20with%20Camera You can contact Kenneth with the number in his website for any clarification. He's very friendly and helpful. Just for your information, I don't even have the provided TC reverse sensors fitted in my 250XV Teana and probably it's one of the rare few, as a reverse camera is more than sufficient. Elfenstar 3rd Gear February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 i was thinking of KM accord. the PI JDM accords are not bad (the euro R body). but too small to compare with the fat boys mentioned in this thread (camry, teana etc). they are probably slightly above the civic but i find civic interior more updated. Thats the JDM accord!!!! The Euro accord is the one (ironically) that the PI's were bringing in!!!! The new one isn't as nice....

Boyboy 1st Gear March 1, 2009 Share March 1, 2009 u mean the JDM camry? I fell that the thai made camry is just as ah pek as the teana i think the JDm camry exterior is much uglier than BM camry. but interior is slightly better. thai made i feel still less ah pek than teana la. but it's rather boring leh

Perrier 1st Gear March 31, 2009 Share March 31, 2009 Hi ppl, I am also one who was very impressed with the new Teana when I went with buddy for a test drive. We drove the 2.0 variant. Having owned a Latio previously, I must say they had gone one up with the new Teana. I also took some time to scout sgcarmart for the older 2.3 (V6) Cefiro and was very surprised that it can be gotten at sub $40k (3yr old) and sub $50 (2yr old). If you dun mind the "ah pek" look and outoging model, this is one of the good car to consider.

Kalmath 1st Gear April 3, 2009 Author Share April 3, 2009 If this is the one TC bringing in, it looks decent and comes with good functionality. Hope the buildin radio sounds better than the original one. After upgrading the speakers with add-on amplifier, I find the factory fitted radio sound is not good, with the exception where it does eliminate static noise effectively. CD/MP3 sound is acceptable. Watwheels Supersonic April 3, 2009 Share April 3, 2009 Hi ppl, I am also one who was very impressed with the new Teana when I went with buddy for a test drive. We drove the 2.0 variant. If you dun mind the "ah pek" look and outoging model, this is one of the good car to consider. So your POV comes from the same brand but diff makes ie from Latio to Teana. My dad who's an "ah pek" recently test drove the car. I asked him how was it. He told me he always found himself trying to step harder and harder to get the car moving. He said how come the 2.5L V6 is "lethargic" as compared to his current 4year old 4pot 2.4L Odyssey. So I replied saying probably cos of the CVT gearbox, vs the Ody's autobox the feeling although is "slow" but if put against the clock both timings might be similar. He also went to see Mazda 6 and CX-7. We find that the diff between the basic cost of the car vs the price tag is a bit too much for Japanese makes. Nissan so far still ok but "ah pek" dun like the CVT box cos he's used to the feel of more instant throttle respond. He said he will go try the Murano next week Which I doubt he will like it cos of the CVT(not that it's not good).

Bird5011 3rd Gear April 3, 2009 Share April 3, 2009 Was in Bangkok last month. At the airport, booked a limo services. Turns out to be the new model Teana. On the highway from airport to hotel, overall the ride is not that comfortable. Could be a 2000cc model and was sitting at the back seat. Can hear the engine trying very hard to pump out the horse power. Engine sound and insulation no good.. The ride is not that bummy but could be better.. Maybe the 2300 or 2500 cc could be better..
Racerboi Neutral Newbie April 6, 2009 Share April 6, 2009 and nav14 i'm here....kena beaten left right center in TCS forum now bragging abt it here? haha...pls lah....u r simply pathetic. i've outrun teana so many times on my accord so? i dont brag abt it...it's just that the other driver do not want to play. i believe for all teana, accord or camry owners out there, not many want to play this kind of things anymore...so why bother outrun in a 50m or less traffic light to traffic light condition? i wonder how many teana owners here bring their cars to the tracks? then again...if u want to flame me, pls carry on. i'm only replying to make it known that your comments still suck - Big time. always so lop-sided. no choice, u are indeed a true eye opener to what you always claim - crowd follower. at least for me, i've driven nissan cars and hence decided never to touch this breed of car ever again. just simply not my type... ↡ Advertisement
