Fired by insurgents.

That is why our C130 is modified to carry flare and chaff.

American C130s are modified for RATO to get them airborne quickly.

So far the international navies are there more for deterrence purpose, rather than to actively flush out the pirates and battle out with them. Dunno if this the right strategy... the pirates have probbaly gioe into hiding since the warships arrive and will probably re-emerge when the tour of duty ends.

Last month or so was low activity by the pirates, not because of the presence of the coaltion force.... it is more because of bad weather and rough seas.

If you have read reports, two group of pirates were apprehended this week, one group repatriated to Holland to stand trial, because they attacked a Dutch ship, another group was apprehended yesterday by a US Naval ship.....

Well, I hope the Navies of the world now stationed at the Gulf of Aden will shoot on sight, rather then to stick to their rules of engagement.

Last November, when I heard and read the news about the Indian Navy opening fire, ................

The last time where the pirates were arrested were returned to their country Samolia which is lawless ...... wtf return them and they later get together and do it again..... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Like the Koreans, fire missile at their mother ship & sink them ........ [thumbsup][thumbsup]

Have you all not read the news?????

One group of pirates were detained, sent to Holland.

Another group detained yesterday, now onboard a US Navy ship...will be sent to kenya for trial......

Believe this has set a precedent..... the pirates will not be returned to Somalia.....

It was not the Koreans, the koreans do not have any naval ships in that region, it was the Indian Navay who fired, the mother ship was a Taiwanese fishing boat captured and used as mother ship....

The LST are equipped with two choppers, which will be more effective.... guess there would be other fast small crafts that can be launched from the LST for the chase if need be.....

Really equipped with 2 choppers? [sly]

Deploy with 2SP does not mean the 2SP will equipped on the LST.
