Sgnick 1st Gear March 9, 2009 Share March 9, 2009 (edited) Even the food, go outside the mall. The food inside the mall not that many choices. I think only KFC interest me. There is Secret Recipe and Kinsahi inside. First time there i can spend 1/2 day, but that's me. Ahgongwolve Clutched March 9, 2009 Share March 9, 2009 Made my maiden trip to Sutera Mall today. Oh my gosh, this must really be the largest modern shopping centre in JB. It is not too far away from the new Jusco Bukit Indah. Just go towards BestMart, after 2 T-junction keep right and soon you will see Sutera Mall. Many Makan houses surrounding that place too. Keppel Land and Capital Land are the owners! Went there quite late so can't finish shopping. Will go back again . Sutera Mall Regards, Filthy? got gangster or not? Later kena robbed and stabbed
Impact2001 Neutral Newbie March 9, 2009 Share March 9, 2009 Thanks. I was there for the first time yesterday morning. Reached about 915am. Found a coffeeshop with many locals having their breakfast. In this coffeeshop there are stalls selling Chicken Rice, Bak Chor Mee, Wan Tan Mee, Fish Noodles, Fried Kway Teow, etc, RM3.50 - RM4.50. Wantan mee so so, could be better. Seafood soup noodle not bad. Sutera Bak kut Teh surprisingly opens only 10am. Most bak kut teh stalls closer to the city opens very early for breakfast and is packed in morning. I am glad the shops in Sutera Mall is not like Jusco Tebrau. Mostly local shops, not those expensive international brands like Singapore malls or TC. And best they sell friendly DVDs openly, something I can't get in TC. It'll be perfect if there is a cinema. So which one you ended up trying? lol

Emkay 1st Gear March 13, 2009 Share March 13, 2009 think you can buy if the property is 250k and above. there'll be units allocated as foreigner eligible one ..
Lightbringer 6th Gear March 13, 2009 Share March 13, 2009 Is that 250k figure denominated in ringitt or some other currency?
Dwoon 1st Gear March 13, 2009 Share March 13, 2009 All units at the Sutera development is in access of RM250K. The cheapest inter-terrance unit is ~ RM$428K and goes upto ~ RM$750 for a double-storey semi-D. All are 3 bedrooms but layout and sizes are different. Inter-terrace units do not have garden. Rather pricey.... and basically not much appreciative value since land is so abundant in Malaysia. Rental rates are a joke in JB so can also rule that out as an investment instrument. Unless buying to stay..... its hogging up your $$$$. think you can buy if the property is 250k and above. there'll be units allocated as foreigner eligible one .. Emkay 1st Gear March 25, 2009 Share March 25, 2009 Sutera area is already consider outside of JB. JB is until the edge of Tampoi only if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, the more luxury areas in JB IMHO should be around molek, those near the royal palace as well as areas behind stulang laut..

Billcoke 2nd Gear March 25, 2009 Share March 25, 2009 Some of the well established international brands are not in the tenant's list, eg: G2000, Starbucks, Coffee bean, CK, Giodano, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds. So, may be the mall is to cater for the local JB people.
Hiphiphoray 6th Gear March 25, 2009 Share March 25, 2009 Buy JB property to stay but keep SG property for lease. Quite a number of my collegues got houses in Jbee. Rental returns are crap and empty house are frequently invaded by strangers. Cheap like dirt on the resale market. In short, a house in jbee is as good as money down the drain. Of course can try to stay there. But the morning jam into spore is extremely horrible. Not a good idea at all.

It actually reminds me of Holiday Plaza but w/o that many DVD shops I am glad that there are not that many international brands because otherwise it will be like shopping in Singapore. Albeniz Turbocharged April 18, 2010 Share April 18, 2010 (edited) Here are some pictures I have taken at Sutera Mall. Photo 1: It has a huge open space car park (free-parking). It is quite vacant at 10am in the morning. Most shops open at ~11am. By afternoon, the carpark can be quite packed. It is still possible to find parking lots though. Photo 2: Some shops in the Mall itself. Photo 3: A view taken from Season cafe. Nice to have a good cup of coffee and some ice-creams. Albeniz Turbocharged April 18, 2010 Share April 18, 2010 Besides the mall, there are many shophouses in the neighbourhood. I prefer to go to the restaurants in the shophouses for lunch or dinner. Meng Meng Roasted Duck is my favourite. ↡ Advertisement
