Comments on citroen xsara 2

Hi all, my BIL juz got a used xsara 2 1.6 auto fr sgcarmart. Juz wondering any comments u guys may have for this car?

nothing much to worry about , just sent to a reputable mech to check the gearbox if intending to keep till scrap

Good car! I drove the xsara 1, which was quite good already... Xsara 2 is even better, solid built, newer engine, easy to maintain, etc...

 

when i was in China, also wanted to buy a Xsara 2, but couldnt find a resale unit then..

 

FYI, and just FYI only.... there's a set of Pipercams at Thomas's place if ur bro is into modding...

For an FWD, pretty good hanlder, with long-travel, good suspensions.

But engine is only so-so, like most other French engines.

 

I believe (recall) this is also one Citroen without the dreaded hydro-pneumatic suspensions.

 

What I also did not like was the rubbery, imprecise manual gear box.

It takes the fun out of driving the car.

 

Back then, many awe-struck people bought the car only because Sebastian Loeb had won many WRCs in a red Citroen Xsara ..... but that's a totally different car altogether, from that marketed for the roads.
