As above....preferably with good quality recordings. [thumbsup]

There used to be an hour of jazz on Symphony 924 sometime between 7pm and 9pm on weekday nights.

I always used to listen to it and it was excellent.

But for some reason 92.4 have stopped it.

It was only one hour, like.

But really enjoyable.

Maybe not enough of us like jazz.

Turbocharged

Stacey Kent is good for a lazy rainy afternoon with good whisky, dim lights and your cat sleeping beside you.

Thought you meant lounges (as in places) to listen to jazz. These days, jazz is a very broad category since anyone and everyone plays any pop on blue chords, and calls it jazz. [laugh]

These guys are pretty good in doing so in a classy way:

You could start with online radio and they are mostly free.

Some famous artists:

Jazz: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, ..

"Old" Classics: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Nat "King" Cole, Bobby Darin, Bing Crosby, ..

"New"Classics: Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole, ..

Bossa Nova: Tom Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Ana Caram, Olivia Ong, ..

Jazz Fusion: Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Lee Ritenour, Spyro Gyra,  ..

Adult Contemporary "Lounge Music": Laura Fygi, Kenny G, George Benson, Dave Koz, Fourplay, ..

Also got a lot of Chinese "jazz-ified" compilations these days.

Their version of White Stripe's 7 Nation Army is interesting..
