You are listing out all the supposed credentials of a convicted criminal who is not more trusty worthy than a Ah Beng who goes around cheating and hiding the truths about all his wrong doings.

By doing so, you are really making this forum is very bad place to be associated with and moreover, don't tell me about the phrase...'ppl do make mistake in their lives' :D

A former business school owner, who cheated three banks as part of a study loan scam, was on Thursday jailed for 34 months. Benny Yap Chee Mun, 42, remained expressionless during his sentencing in a District Court.

He is appealing both his April 18 conviction and Thursday's sentence on 13 charges of cheating or helping to cheat the banks into lending $145,500 to people who were not students.

Yap did this by providing the banks with letters of acceptance from Brookes Business School. These purportedly showed that the borrowers had secured places in his school which is now defunct.

Together with 39-year-old education agent Ron Go Boon Chai, Yap took substantial cuts from the loans and passed the rest to the recipients who were Singaporeans or permanent residents. Yap's bail was also raised on Thursday from $600,000 to $700,000 because of the conviction. He still has 312 other charges against him, including offering dud degrees. A pre-trial conference has been set on Aug 13.

Wah...what is MOE and CASETRUST doing?

I thought the least they could do was to call up the universities themselves to confirm if there is indeed such a tie-up?

How difficult is that?

Another case of "eyeball" inspection only? The last time someone did that, a rusty lamp-post fell and claimed a young life...sigh

MOE? haha...you think its govt school?

CASETRUST? haha....toothless tiger?

Because of him, the entire private school landscape was revamped. Thanks to him, CPE was introduced.

He is nothing but trouble.

Aiyah, I think most people who have met/dealt with him in the past are not surprised by the news lah.

Even during the old carpark rally days he would come around to borrow tools and we would keep a close eye and remember to take them back, or else *ahem*. During the OG rounding days of the 90s sometimes his wife will be with him, sometimes some other charbohs [lipsrsealed]
