Konken Clutched October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 You mean you are considering Passat CC - S60 - 3Series for your next ride? What are your considerations? Costs, style, handling, etc....?
Throttle2 Supersonic October 7, 2009 Share October 7, 2009 the Passat CC coupe has a few competitors. I'm evaluating the cars and hope to get some opinions. Unless you are comparing with a 325i at least, I think the choice is clear. Passat CC rules.
Viceroymenthol 6th Gear October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 the Passat CC coupe has a few competitors. I'm evaluating the cars and hope to get some opinions. 3 series? unless you are talking about the turbocharged 335 sedan or wagon. now that is the car i would love, better still give me the xDrive version.. haha. even the sweet revving NA 325 at approx 30% more expensive than the VW and Volvo might not make it against the Passat CC and the new S60 in terms of real world urban road performance. we're not talking trackday here. let's face it, in terms of performance in singapore all you really want most of the time are rolling acceleration and overtaking capabilities, short bursts of acceleration to switch lanes so that you don't get caught out in the wrong lane. both the Passat CC and S60 have these capabilities in spades. the naturally aspirated 3 series (320, 323, 325) excels in taking corners. The Passat CC and S60 are sufficiently capable of taking fast corners too although not with as much finesse as a BMW does. So it all boils down to what you value more in your car. If your budget allows, by all means go for the 325, you will definitely enjoy it. but if you're looking for bang for the buck, get the Passat CC. my 2 c

Rm2s 5th Gear October 11, 2009 Share October 11, 2009 If you can live with 4 seats, then no doubt about it, Passat CC wins the day. The 1.8TFSI engine with 7-speed DSG makes it a fun car to drive. The 320 is good but in terms of space and pace, CC wins. Volvo S60? Are you talking about the new one? Not here yet, if it is current model, it has been around for way too long and look out for the turning radius of S60, many people have trouble turning into their home or work car park ... Argument on cornering capability, rear wheel drive advantage, resale values, etc .. it all comes down to personal preference honestly. I drive in Singapore 95% of the time and in traffic half of that 95%. imo, low end torque and turbo burst of power for overtaking is more important than anything else. If you like taking sweeping corner on ramps to expressway, FWD could do it as well with a set of sorted coilover, may not beat BMW in handling department but it's a overall package one should be looking at. How much is the asking price for Passat CC currently?
Sevnrg Neutral Newbie October 11, 2009 Share October 11, 2009 srsly, i feel that the passat cc looks like a mercedes CLS copycat gone wrong. the care just looks sooo ah-pek and the poor noise insulation and droning wind noise travelling at highway speeds.. but what to expect its just a budget car brand if you really like the passat CC though i suggest you visit the local vw forums to read up more
Jadeband Neutral Newbie November 15, 2009 Share November 15, 2009 At 130K range, i think Passat CC win hands down. Unless you pick S80 and 335 for comparison (then again they are of different category). A4 actually has a better drive (could be through its 8 speed auto gear). But i hate its cluttered front. But within these choices, have to choose passat cc. 3 series getting long in the tooth, S60 no longer on sale le (about to be replaced). If got C-class & A4 in this discussion then its better.
