Mini-itx Clutched September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 FYI, there's really a 320i coupe . new from PML @ $202K .. I think the 320i coupe from PMI cannot touch one. Its still using the same lousy 2L engine........ There is a better engine with 12:1 compression and direct injection and ~20HP more. I think only PI has it. But I heard its not suitable for local use. I don't know if its true. This is the only 320i/120i coupe worth getting.

Mini-itx Clutched September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 now the worst car there can be will be toyota, ya? reliability issue number 1 in ranking i guess... most no value car... once you started driving a toyota, you will never stop... brake not working i guess.... Sigh, Toyota used to be good back in the old days with cars like Corolla, Corona etc.... They are extremely reliable and parts cheap to find and cheap to fix. They used to compete with other Japs with their MR2, Celica and Supra too.... But those days were gone..... After they decide to become No.1 in the world. They threw all the QC out of the window in order to gain market share. Now.... sigh..... But talking about Toyota, its still very popular in the middle east. This is what I heard form someone who went they to work for 2yrs. I was told that Conti cars are not exactly suitable because parts are expensive and they are esaily affect by the sandy weather (sand is everyhwere). Toyota not so much affect and more reliable. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 Toyota's Land Cruiser still dependable all these years.... very popular in Middle-East.... [laugh]
Mini-itx Clutched September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 now, if only VW made a 1.6TSI engine.... MWAHAHA.... that'll be wicked i tell you.... I don't think you would want to touch it..... The reason is not the engine but the gearbox. The DSG gearbox is very unreliable (reas lots of problems about it on the net). Actually, I would want a 2L twin charged Sirocco with 6 speed manual..... Passion 5th Gear September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 Those high end toyota still ok.They take shortcut for those smaller version like Vios,Yaris and Altis. If you look at Hilux and fortuner, these range of toyota still very reliable. It's normal, when one is making alot of money, their next aim is how to make more money. So cost cutting is the next measure they come up with. Coupecabriolet Clutched September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 My turbocharger comes in 1500rpm to 4500rpm. I was told the supercharger cuts off at 3500rpm in a scirocco 1.4TSI. (not sure when does SC cuts in, 1000rpm or 0 :p) Anyone any idea why? If SC cuts off at a later RPM, doesn't it give slightly better performance? Kar_lover Supercharged September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 I own a 2.0L koup which is around $90K so for me, the difference is only $30K. I did not choose Scirocco is because the back of a Scirocco looks kinda wierd. My wifey feels that Koup look better than Scirocco and therefore we decided to spend the extra cash that we have for holidays instead. Koup appearance appeals to me most though and that probably why my decision to buy a koup. i bring gf go see koup and then walkover to VW see jetta, golf and roc. She also say koup nicer both outside and inside. the only VW she prefered was EOS. so i end up with 1.6L koup as not willing to spend extra $10k for a 2.0L. My SE also advised me strongly to take 1.6L as i am high mileage user and 2.0L FC will have big impact on me in the long run (other than higher RT and depreciation). Kar_lover Supercharged September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 Koup and Scirocco different mah.... Koup have rear backside leah.... all car have backside lah - only whether protruding (i.e boot) or not (i.e. hatch) haha.... anyway my point is i agree with zac dat the back of roc really looks wierd - not muscular looking at all (but i like the front part). Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 i only like the look of Scirocco R.... looks fierce.... the normal models, most of them buy oversized 19inch matt black rims.... looks good with white.... [laugh] but the looks will be more balanced with a protruding boot like the Koup (saloon style)....
Tt_hh 2nd Gear September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 Tuscani was really a budget coupe attempt by Hyundai.... but Koup is different.... for one thing, it's a new car with new design, and comes with market competitive features.... Tuscani was launched 7 yrs ago ...if koup is not a new car with new design den KIA koup will be doomed....of coz after 7 yrs the cousin company have to improve what and Hyundai now already have Genesis coupe...and TC sonata 2.0T at 286bhp
Tt_hh 2nd Gear September 14, 2010 Share September 14, 2010 I agree.Tuscani really no shape.Koup is nice only if it's driven nicely.I believe the person who design the car already did his job well.Don't know why there's still people go and change out the rims.If change to black or gun metal coloured rim still ok,but those blink blink type. Really would like to see how lasting can nowadays korean make last without people complaining about major breakdown. Tuscani still looks better with its curves den a boxy koup...well one man's posion is another man's meat.... Korean ride is very lasting.... my ex ride was 5.5yrs before i traded in for a mpv due to change of lifestyle..it clocked 40k km/yr.... super low maintenace and durability and no breakdown before... parts are also cheaper den jap rides... ↡ Advertisement
