Davc Neutral Newbie November 1, 2009 Share November 1, 2009 http://www.6versus8.com/showdown/video4/index.html http://www.6versus8.com/showdown/video5/index.html You know, I think a GTR or EvoX can beat all these cars in this kind of situation, if we only consider speed, without considering things like price, space, comfort, branding etc. ↡ Advertisement

Davc Neutral Newbie November 1, 2009 Author Share November 1, 2009 Push them to the limit, and you'll know what they are made of. If they have a 'city comfort drive' contest....The Jag and Merc might be the winner I feel.

Throttle2 Supersonic November 1, 2009 Share November 1, 2009 come on, it has to be the BMW if the track is a twisting one.
Throttle2 Supersonic November 1, 2009 Share November 1, 2009 hoho, just finished watching the video. and the BMW indeed is tops. I realise at the end of the video that the focus was on the Lincoln. dont they know that ugly cars simply dont sell, no matter what
Ladykillerz 4th Gear November 1, 2009 Share November 1, 2009 Obviously the video is speaking for the Ford. Ford shouldn't be in the picture... to compare with the rest..
Pyramid_sg Clutched November 1, 2009 Share November 1, 2009 (edited) I was rooting for the BMW on this one. Hills and Curves...... BMW is king. The Merc did quite well too. Edited November 1, 2009 by Pyramid_sg

Davc Neutral Newbie November 1, 2009 Author Share November 1, 2009 The BMW is easier to be pushed to the limit, even at the limit it is manageable, rolls less. Actually there are other good cars like cadillac CTS, but not being featured.

inlinesix Supersonic November 2, 2009 Share November 2, 2009 I like Quattroporte especially its GTS. Stock exhaust damn shiok! Unfortunely, it is the heaviest car among the 4.
Davc Neutral Newbie November 2, 2009 Author Share November 2, 2009 If they have chosen a straight road, the Merc should do very well. If they are attending a celebrity party, we need the Maserati. If they are participating in a gentlemen's club function with the royal family, we need the Jaguar. BMW is good for driving, my hobby :)
Alfisti168 1st Gear November 2, 2009 Share November 2, 2009 Seems quite biased though. The Jag XF and the Quattroporte doesn't seem to be pushed hard.
Davc Neutral Newbie November 2, 2009 Author Share November 2, 2009 (edited) Seems quite biased though. The Jag XF and the Quattroporte doesn't seem to be pushed hard. Some cars are just easier to drive at the limit, and that gearbox maybe just not meant for that road always in between gears, can be many reasons. Maybe different tires? Just like Porsche claiming that GTR's lap time at Nurburgring is fake. If this test is based on going down hill, the brakes will then play a big part, also even more demanding on handling. Anyway we will not buy or not buy a car based on 2-3 sec difference in the lap time. Somebody who wants comfort will not mind that 2 sec difference on a twisty mountain road.
