7007 2nd Gear December 19, 2009 Share December 19, 2009 I went to test drove the KIA Sorento and Hyundai Tucson today.... The followings are my personal views: KIA Sorento 2.4 premium Pro: 1) Lots of features: HID, twin-moonroof, ESP, etc 2) 7 Seaters 3) High OMV (can be confirmed only when registered next Mar) 4) Lower PM Con: 1) Plastic quality somehow inferior 2) Finishing quality lower than Hyundai 3) 2nd row fixed 4) 3rd row rather clamp 5) Backside almost the same as other SUV 6) Lack of built reverse camera with screen in the rearview mirrior Huyndai 2.0 SP Pro: 1) Nice profile 2) High finishing 3) Better grade plastics 4) Quiter Engine 5) Built reverse camera with screen in the rearview mirrior Con: 1) Lower OMV 2) Rather bare features comapred to KIA 3) High PM 4) Manual Aircon control Though Sorento is supposed to be comapred with Sante Fe as they are in the same league.. I am comapring as they are the latest SUV in the market now. Between these 2 SUV, I would choose Sorento if I want to a SUV. Both ADs are offering very low for my ody plus it is only 2.5 yr old so it is too wasteful, right? ↡ Advertisement

Picanto 3rd Gear December 19, 2009 Share December 19, 2009 the ody is one of the best in MPV market. dun make the wrong decsion by selling it

Friendstar Supercharged December 19, 2009 Share December 19, 2009 i saw the new sorento in the showroom i drive an ody09. sorento indeed has features... but features don't really sell the car!
Alfisti168 1st Gear December 19, 2009 Share December 19, 2009 Con: 1) Lower OMV 2) Rather bare features comapred to KIA 3) High PM 4) Manual Aircon control Hmm. If Tucson SP's dual zone climate control is still considered "manual" to uu, then I dunno what's auto liao.
Alfisti168 1st Gear December 19, 2009 Share December 19, 2009 u mad or what? keep the ody! ody is sooooo much better and nicer looking Especially the previous gen's Absolute edition. The rear is cool!

Dkcm888 1st Gear December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 Tuscon very hollow, looks big but is for design only, do not feel very solid.
Gz0707 4th Gear December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 Saw the car yesterday - damn funny for the display car to be put on a tilted platform at Leng Kee showroom - sooner or later someone will fall off and get injured! Handsome car overall, i just cant figure out why they cant put basic stuff on the EX version, such as 3rd a/c, ESP, side curtain airbags. all these can be found on the SX premium version, but gut feel is that not many pp will want to pay 10k more for a premium Kia SUV version. Lucaswh 1st Gear December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 it has a great front view..but the back view is pretty mundane...esp the unimaginative tail lamps.

Yeshe Turbocharged December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 How's the outlander? I was considering it too. not bad, serving me very well. however dont bother with the 7 seater if u are looking to fit in 7 pax. the last row seats practically useless. mine is the 5 seater option. now family is growing, so might have to look for MPV options soon

Yeshe Turbocharged December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 think should be preventive maintainance... cannot be lah, both are SUVs, maintenance should be the same
Dkcm888 1st Gear December 20, 2009 Share December 20, 2009 MAintenance should be similar, but Kia has more features then Hyundai. Thus more value for money too. ↡ Advertisement
