Just saw that the premium that new buyers will be paying for the new Tucson is 22%!

If the 4k discount is still available, the premium is still high at 16%.

This comparing with Sorento at 9%, Qashqai at 4%......

Saw the promo that Tucson noww at $78299. The 4k reduction still on?

Yes, would really like to know too. Was at the showroom today, price still pretty stiff, esp with the recent COE hikes.

Neutral Newbie

Based on ur assumption of OMV $17k with COE of $22k,

Basic cost = 2.28 * $17k + $22k = $60,760

Gross Margin = $79,299 - $60,760 = $18,539

% Margin = 31%

Would just like to ask, what would we consider as a reasonable margin? 10%, 15% or even 20%?

I have been trying to shop for a car recently and Tucson is one of those that I am eyeing on. And I

actually find the margin not too bad.

OMV is 21500 for the Tucson SP

21500*2.3 = 49,450

COE = 24,000

Total = 73,500

Price = 85,000

Margin = 13.5%

OMV for a PI Wish was 20,000

20000*2.3 = 46,000

COE = 24,000

Total cost = 70,000

Price = 85,000

Margin = 17.6%

If you ask me, 13.5% for a AD compared to 17.6% for a PI, I rather pay the AD.

Any second thots, anyone?

dun get too fussy about margin and %. you will not go wrong buying from AD. in times of recall, they standby their cars. and they do not outsource their WS to 3rd parties. they have their own WS. buy AD for peace of mind.

I agree....have booked with komoco, hopefully can get car soon

judging by the trend of high coe, they may ask you top up. but its still up to you.

buying from AD is good. no hanky panky sales tatics used. everything is honest and transparent.

Saw one on the road about two weeks ago, I think it looked good. I didnt even know the Tucson had a new 2010 body then.

The only thing holding me back from buying is the price, which I think is on the high side......

The new 2010 Sportage thats coming out also looks pretty good.

Saw 2 new Tucsons today near City Square Residences, the body lines are too sharp to my likes.

Also the windows are little too small.
