How can they be the best when they are known to buy from other suppliers and rebrand?

 

Isn't it just heng suay on whether you get a good packet or not?

I did pre-order with Kim Joo Guan, LCG meat supplier, and gotten LCG as a gift. Tried both and prefer LCG. I know KCG boss personally but my taste bud steer towards LCG.

i still prefer to eat LCG. 

Though i haven't tried those from the east.

This is the cut out portion where some chow dar are spotted and sold at a cheaper price. It's Fragrance brand and not the best testing one though.

 

Bought half a kilo at $10.

i don't like minced meat type ... prefer sliced meat type ...

 

favorite is still BCH .... last friday just bought 600gm sliced meat type at $26 at the Expo food fair ...

 

still damn expensive compared to the rest of the players ... like Peng Guan was only selling $20 for 1 kg of slice meat !!

On the contrary, it is indeed tradition to have all kinds of preserved meats as CNY treats. The meats are hang out to dry in the midst of winter (also known as 臘月). But since SG got no winter, so it is less practised here and bak kwa is a more feasible alternative than 臘肉, 臘鴨, 臘腸.

 

The younger generation have plenty of meats everyday, any day so it is nothing special now.

 

 

this year chinetown no more stall selling 臘肉, 臘鴨, 臘腸 ,  it use to have 3-4 stalls selling and they bid very high price for the location.
