Effective May 2010!

Always thought esso has the best value in terms of discounts and especially their points compared to shell and caltex. [cool]

Not anymore! [mad]

This has been one of my main reasons for pumping Esso.

Time to change brand?

EDIT: Previously was 1 smile points for every $1.25 spent.

I've been pumping esso as it was always the most convenient. What was it before???

I have not bothered with those points system; it's a really simple system to get the most out of the consumer and give the least. Simple reason being you can't do nuts with the odd points.

I have since gone for straight discount with SPC. No cash back dividend, etc etc wait until 3 months then the cheque comes.

Now Esso's point system same as Caltex......:(

BTW, anyone knows is Esso giving out the $2 discount coupon for this month?

too many people redeem $30 worth of petrol with 750 points. they are making it difficult for drivers to accumulate more points.

Agree. I find Esso 95 a bit too sluggish. Shell 95 and Caltex 95 feels much better. Actually sometimes I wonder what additives they put in the petrol that makes them different. Shall check my smiles point the next time i go, scarly got enough points to redeem petrol liao...

For long time since dunno when, shell has $20 fuel discount every 600 pts. So its still relatively better at esso for $30 every 750 pts...

Actually if you calculate in the long run, esso points base on fuel discount is still better than shell.. Just go do it up in your excel sheet and you will see that after 4 redeems, you get a better discount with Esso than with shell. Well , its long, but these are so call loyalty perks.

This station is privately owned..the white haired old uncle working at the station told me..so it's up to the owner whether he wants to spend the $ to renovate

caltex permium is actually ron98?...no wonder same price as the rest 98.

wonder why petrolwatch put it under same category as shell permium which is 2.149/litre.

What I like about Esso is the speedpass, no need to queue at the counter for payment.

Do others have this too?

Actually caltex platinum 98 is equivalent to shell v-power..this is wat caltex claim..but they choose to sell it at 98 prices
