Nmnhnlm Clutched May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 motul 300V and mobil1 silver bottle Motul.... Hoho... It does give good FC and power. But read that the protection is rather poor. Saw one forum that did the oil analysis (I think is 350Z forum). The amt of debris in Motul is very high. This means lots of wear and tear. I guess protection and good FC/power never comes together. Mini-itx Clutched May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 I am using Amsoil 10W40 oil for my car because it cost $15 per bottle. Wouldn't want to spend too much on engine oil considering I change it every 5000 KM.
Sp33dst3r Neutral Newbie May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 Many high performance cars such as Porsches and Nissan GTR are factory filled with Mobil 1. I'm pretty it won't go wrong with this oil.

Mini-itx Clutched May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 I am currently using Amsoil 10W40 for my car. You can try Amsoil as I feel its really good value for money. From what I have read, Amsoil is not on the powerful side (i.e. does not give you that much power and FC is so-so), however protection is really good. Gohsj89 1st Gear May 20, 2010 Author Share May 20, 2010 i do agree that AMSOIL is good for protection. maybe that's why not so good FC. But i must say, quite nice to drive. Anyone have any takes on OWS?

I did try the OWS Uber Racing Turbo oil.... Nothing fantastic. Engine in fact noiser than Amsoil. Thus change out the oil after around 2K and use back Amsoil. Jamesc Hypersonic May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 hahaha can eleborate?? Sure POE is Poly Ol Esters or Group 5 oils. These oils are designed for jet engines so can take a lot of heat and pressure. More than any car can generate. + point: sticks to the walls of yr engine like a magnet due to its negative polarity and don't need pressure to provide lubrication like a water skier needs speed to ski on the water, no speed he sinks. Other oils no pressure, no protection. - point: expensive PAO is Poly Alpha Olefin or Group 4 oils. These oils are fully synthetic so its made my men in labs with white coats and not from refining crude oils + point: take heat better than oil refined from crude and doesn't burn off and leave sludge like mineral oil. cheaper than POE - point: does not stick to your engine like a magnet so when the engine is not running, it sinks to the bottom. Need pressure to provide protection to your engine.
Jamesc Hypersonic May 20, 2010 Share May 20, 2010 Mobil 1 has both POE and PAO. Maybe lesser POE than Motul but price also lesser.

Need pressure to provide protection to your engine. Talking about Group 5 oils, I think its mostly used by Gear oils and MTF. This is because our gearboxes do not have a pump and it relies on oil sticking to the metal parts to provide lubrication. I think one of the brands that uses POE for EO is redline.
