Kb27 Supersonic May 17, 2011 Share May 17, 2011 Are these RO filters ? No. They are simple and cheap filters. Nevertheless, they are good enough imo. Go for those with at least 2 cartridge. One is a sediment filter, the other you can put carbon block filter. The replaceable filters are very cheap, sold in blocks of 3 or 5 pcs. If you're not moving it around, you can get those mounted on the wall. I use this for drinking water.
Tom_kkh 1st Gear May 18, 2011 Share May 18, 2011 I tried boiled water....the fishes still die.... BoilEd wate will have low chlorine.....maybe the filter removed the remaining chlorine. Anyway....I am happy with tHe filters...as anything that is good for my fishes to survive...means it's good for my body too. So filter is a good Thing to have in homes....even though the gov says our water can drink from the tap.....but I am sold on the filter from now onwards. filters don remove chlorine. Its the activeted carbon in the cartrides that removes it. boiled water fish die maybe the oxygen has been "forced" out of the water? anyways home filter lobang for those interested. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40752

EasyGoing 2nd Gear May 10, 2012 Share May 10, 2012 hi kb27 do you know where I can buy those simple cartridge type filters you mention in Spore as I don't go JB. I just need to filter out sediments that's all no need "pure" water
Djdp Clutched May 10, 2012 Share May 10, 2012 KYK Alkaline Water http://www.h2olifesource.com/ this is a good one. I rather use this then filters. Many don't see this, filters only trap particles, it does not kill gems. So, u have to change out the filters regularly, if not, more particles trapped equal more dirty, isn't it? So use something like this alkaline water system or those UV lamp will be better in my view. I checked the alkaline system before, if i remember correctly, it's selling close to 1.3k

Audi655 Clutched May 21, 2012 Share May 21, 2012 But do take not that we cannot drink alkaline water completely, the fish would also die in a totally alkaline environment. there must be a balance

Donut Supercharged July 26, 2013 Share July 26, 2013 I'm into water filtration as i want to have clean drinking water at home. Currently i'm using the 3M water pitcher. Now, whatever brand we are buying, it's good that they should be NSF certified. Not sure how it will help to ensure product quality, but its better than nothing. we cannot just depend on what the company claims their product can do and this. This NSF link enables you to check on the brand or company name. Well, I'm glad 3M is in the list......... http://www.nsf.org/consumer/
Nostalgia 4th Gear July 26, 2013 Share July 26, 2013 (edited) I've used Everpure for a long time. Read about it here. They supply many commercial food businesses. http://residential.everpure.com/ You can buy it here (results filtered for AmazonGlobal): http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_ship...rnid=2944662011 H-54 if you don't have the space under the kitchen counter. H-300 is a good system if you are looking at price/performance. H-1200 if you have space. Buy the full system with the head that you install permanently. Buy replacement cartridges every 6 months for the H-54 and every 12 months for the rest. The cartridges come with an alarm that triggers when it's time to order a replacement. You'll need to route the water to a tap. You can either route it to the cold water tap in your kitchen (lowest cost alternative but you waste filtered water everytime you wash) or get a dedicated tap: http://www.amazon.com/Everpure-EV9970-59-D...ywords=everpure NSF link: http://www.nsf.org/Certified/consumer/list...%&cat_desc= Edited July 26, 2013 by Nostalgia
