Iridium Spark plugs are getting more and more expensive as iridium is a precious metal. Will you reuse your iridium plugs after going through a thorough ultrasonic cleaning process and re-gap back to original size.

Would you advise to re-use?

that will depend how much is this service cost vs a new set

not too sure whats "ultrasonic cleaning process"... I usually clean my cheapo copper plug with throtter body cleaner and regap once in a while and the copper plug could last me almost entire lifespan of my car... dont see any problem with it...

Yes I am all for recycling and reuse. Small shops and home use Ultrasonic Cleaners are getting very cheap and therefore the cost of cleaning should not be more than 20% of the spark plug price.

Ultrasonic cleaners are widely use initially by hospitals, follow by Hotels and aerospace industries. In the automotive service industry, I notice specialist shops doing carbs and fuel injectors are the very first to use such cleaners.

Yes I would if the cleaning and re-gapping price is reasonable and process is as fast as changing a new set of spark plugs.

Set of 8 performance/premium grade spark plugs (BRISK) for S$87, fraction of price for new ones no need to clean and consider whether which better deal, want just PM me. Spares from selling off car (never got to fully use thus).

You got the wrong guy, I am not buying plugs, I just throw this idea for discussion only. The whole idea of going green is to Recycle, Reuse or Reduce to reduce the burden on our enviroment.

Recycle is good but in a technical point of view there's no way you can replace the eroded material on the centre and ground electrode, even worst, the sand blasting will "rounded" the ground electrode thus making it even more inefficient.

Eroded center and ground electrode is not a big problem cause you can just regap it. Of course if its too badly eroded, then it has to be replaced.

Definetly no point trying to recond highly wear off centre electrode. No sand is being used, ultrasonic cleaner use washing liquid - simple detergent with distilled water may do the work.
