Check under carpets in car & boot. Look for water stains in hard to reach/clean places. Rust. Stained leather/fabric seats. Wheel bearings worn or rusted.

These r the main things I can think of now.

Most door has a gromet/rubber bung to inspect the door interior.

Use a super duper bright led flash light to inspect the lower parts of door interior.

Also check the lower door speakers for water stains or brand new speakers!

Lagi best if u can dismental the door card to check for water level stain marks!

Smell the under seat carpet with your nose. If got musky smell, means wet carpet. Those flooded cars will stay wet while in the workshop waiting for insurance approval before can go ahead to service. So most of these cars will either change new carpet or have the musky smell or strong perfum smell to mask the odour.

By the time the once flooded car reaches the dealer, these signs or evidence would have been removed by the workshop or dried up or gone....

if the rust is remove and electrical system change, then a flooded car should be quite ok to drive... right ?

Look for those not painted parts like body Joint, below carpet and boot, engine bay, exhuast, mid pipe joint, nut/screw all start to get rusty.

Turbocharged

Is there a possibility that a flood-infected car can still be a drivable car?

oh yah, saw an Audi A4 at a workshop few weeks back. The whole interior was ripped out including the dash. The number plate indicates a very new car. Asked my friend why so and he told me its one of the flooded cars under repair and will be sold to the next unsuspecting buyer. [shakehead]

Where is the ethnic? Our SAF seven core values all go down the drain (pun intended). Better check careful for those buying car soon on 2nd hand market, especially an A4.

But if they change everything that was damaged, their cost wil b so high, it wil b more worth to just scrap the car & re-export it to some unlucky idiot in another country.

This is like CSI.

Flooded cars will not appear in the market at the moment. Still wet.

They will have to remove evidence of water marks.

Wksp will have to dry and prep them. I dont think rust will apear within this few weeks. They could easily respray car or spray protective oil to delay oxidation.

Interior may have cleaned up or replaced.

So match to see if the roof lining, carpet, seats, ICE are brand new or newly installed and match that to the age of car.

This is what I can come out with

Here're one of my observation.

Look at the IU unit. (Thank god for ERP! HUR HUR!)

If it looks totally brand new, that means without all the scuff marks on the display made from inserting/removing cashcards.. might be a suspicious sign [:p]
